I had a REALLY good Christmas present. Happened to be up north visiting family for Christmas when I heard that Ainscoughs LTM 1800 was on its first job since being overhauled. And it turned out it was only a 20 minute drive Teeth

East Coast mainline was closed down for 48hrs starting at some point Christmas Eve. Old bridge was taken down last night (Christmas Eve) and they were clearing up and making room for the new bridge this morning when I was there. The new bridge beams were brought in last night courtesy of Shay Murtagh.

Here's what I have for now, which is just one! But I have more to come Smile

Many thanks to Gaz and Ray for helping me locate this one Wink

Here are some more pictures from my Christmas Day adventure:

Shay Murtaghs Scanias -

The bridge beams were brought in Christmas Eve.

And the LTM 1800 herself, looking rather resplendent in her new paint job!

And when I left Dundee at lunchtime today, I came across Wm Whytes Scania and Nooteboom ballast trailer parked up. Their LTM 1200-5.1 was working near by on Christmas Day but it was very hard to get a decent photo of it so I didn't!

Enjoy!

There is quite a railway bridge replacement project going on near where I live. LG 1550 arrived already and I caught some photos of it this afternoon. The major part of the bridge will be lifted into place tonight and I will go back and see what I can do.

Also tonight there will be 2 x LTM 1500-9.1's arriving to do two other bridges with a few hundred metres of each other! Lifting tomorrow morning so might catch one of them but we will see.

TGX and ballast wagon for one of the LTM 1500's

If you play the above photos back quick enough, it does all come together Smile

Got lucky again this morning. As it is a residential area, they can only work between 7am and 7pm so I arrived about 7-30am to see one of the 500's being rigged.

And also one of the new TGX's with the new livery:

I spoke with some of the Ainscough guys whilst I was there and I have to say they were a great bunch of lads!

Might be one more trip back to the LG 1550 tomorrow to see what I can find. Have a feeling it might be de rigged tomorrow.
