Photos of a project I am working on. I am attempting to convert a Sword P Series truck to an F Series.

Looks good so far but I have one question. I thought the R Series trucks did not have a live front axle?

Thanks. I might be miss naming the series. I am working off photos that look like the R Series. You are much more knowledgible about Oshkosh trucks than I am so what would you call it?

Correct Todd,

F series 6x6, AWD, all had driven front axles multiple aplications including the Military M-911 (8x6)
R series 6x4, built to compete on the heavy road haulage market, more popular in Australia, NZ, SA...
P series 4x4 & 6x6, many variations thru the years, predominantly for DPW / plow applications
J series, 6x6, severe service, desert / oil platform
S series AWD front discharge mixer

Just to name a few.

Thanks Guys for setting me straight on the nomenclature of the truck. I have edited the post accordingly.

Pat, I hope you don't show me up too bad when you do your Oskosh!

Thanks for the comments. Much appreciated.

Here is the truck I used as a guide that I found on ebay. It is a Perkins truck that was for sale.

That is a F2346 or F2365. Going off the truck specs I would say she was an M911 to start with.
This is an R series.

Very nice work. Keep us posted.

I'm loving the D9G, fresh from the factory on that truck!

I've always liked Oshkosh trucks no matter what model. A fine model you've built. Can't wait till I can start bashing machines.
