I went down to Campbell yesterday and on the way back I stopped in San Leandro and stopped in at the Volvo and Caterpillar dealers.

First off is the Volvo dealer lots of brand new and not so new iron.

The New stuff

And the not so new stuff

And next up is Peterson Tractor Co's Main dealership.

The Showroom

Out in back

I Went and took a look at some new CT660's, I never really cared for them but they're growing on me.

They even have a Cat store, This being the main headquarters for the company, Picked up a Norscot 657G for a outrageous price.

Of course I never leave empty handed

Great pics, reminds me of the Milton Cat here in NY, huge yard and a large gift shop.

Now that is a D6T that I would welcome with open arms instead of the 6-way blade in 1/50th. I know Ad Gevers made a kit to convert it.

Volvo sure does have a lot of demo equipment in the yard.

Great pics. Particularly the Volvo solid tire wheel loader. That one must work around cardboard recycling.

Great equipment pics. Are you in the Bay Area? I'm in San Jose.

Today Bragg crane was in town lifting pre-fab sections for a modular home with a Grove GMK7450. It's a real sharp looking & very big crane.

This picture was a spur of the moment one, I think it's good enough to be framed.

I also took some video of the crane leaving. It can be viewed here.

I would say a municipal solid waste transfer station, rather than cardboard recycling, the rubber "squeegee" edge is designed for pushing wet and sloppy garbage, You'd likely have a standard bucket with grapples for most recycling applications.

Labounty and volvo are a pretty good match, once a dealer knows how to properly set them up, Which it looks like this one has that down pat... (Portland's Volvo Dealer Clyde West was still learning when I was last running Volvo's) I have yet to operate a MDP20 like the one mounted on the 210, Looks like it'd be more productive than the UP-20, I never cared much for the dual cylinder design for processing concrete.

Very nice. The last time I saw the Grove it was down here in Long Beach on a Power Plant outage. It's huge.

The GMK 7550 seems like over kill for those lifts. It's weird to see a crane without counter weight. TFS

On the third picture, during the lift, it looks like it has the counter weights.

They did have counter weights on the crane in pictures 2-4 when they were doing the lifts, The rest of the picture were taken about 2 hours later when they were disassembling the crane. I have more pictures on the Miniature Construction Models page.

I see the counter weights now. But it still seems like over kill for house construction.

Today I was out and about in West Sacramento and I stopped in at Atlas Copco dealer. Unfortunately they don't sell the replicas there, But the manager is quiet the collector. Of course the sun just had to be in the perfect spot to ruin some of the photos.

I also went up the street to Coast Crane once again another manager who is quite fond of scale models.

A wacky looking Grove, Anybody know the model?

I also stopped in at Strohm Equipment, not to much variety but lots of equipment.

I also went to the Komatsu Dealer but didn't get any pics, I'll be back down there in a few weeks and i'll get some more pictures.

I went to Precision Crane in Windsor to get some pictures of their Liebherr LTM1160-2 for a new drawing i'll be making for them. This crane was originally owned by Jake's crane & rigging of Las Vegas.
