Don't know if anyone else has heard about this, but Liebherr has updated the LTM1300 http://www.liebherr.com/AT/en-GB/products_at.wfw/id-20790-0/measure-metricNo data yet (I don't suspect it will be much different from the old generation), but there are a few pictures _13480-0_W615H615.jpg) _13871-0_W615H615.jpg) I've been waiting to see both this crane and the 1500 updated, with the new cab, counterwights, etc, but after seeing the 1350 released, I was wondering if it was going to happen. As for the 1500, though it would look good, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Why do Liebherr Produce so many Crane so close in Range..
wouldn't it make for business scene to go in 100ton jumps.... reducing number of produce lines need to be built.

The LTM 1300-6.2 is actually a replacement for the LTM 1250-6.1. Hence a model will go away as well. This also explains the similarities to the LTM 1250-6.1 in the counter weight arrangement. The LTM 1350-6.1 is the update to the LTM 1300-6.1. Hence Liebherr has maintained the 50 metric ton spread between machines while leaving a 50 ton increment to the LTM 1400-7.1 rather than 100 metric tons.
All manufacturers have added 200 to 230 metric ton cranes on five axles into their model line ups over the past decade. This is where the true model proliferation has occurred as this is where the mass demand and greater price competition is.
Likewise, it would not surprise me at all if we see updates to both the LTM 1400-7.1 and the LTM 1500-8.1. A fifty metric ton up rating of the 1500 and the introduction of a 1650 could be very possible. I personally see the 400 to 450 metric ton crane becoming to fleets what the 300 metric crane was a decade ago.
It is a single engine machine due to the costs of going to a twin engine machine meeting the upcoming emissions standards. It will be interesting to see the market acceptance of this feature.

Something that I just noticed is that the ltm 1250-6.1 has a total counter weight of 97.5 tons and the ltm 1300-6.3 has 96 tons of total counter weight. That 1.5 tons less, and it can lift 50tons more too.
Mammoet- Size does Matter.
