Just saw this on Facebook from TWH, "All, It is with great sadness that I announce the closing of TWH Collectibles effective Friday, June 7. Factors beyond our control prevented us from transitioning TWH to another model company as was originally planned. I am proud of the museum class models that TWH has produced over the last 10 years, but also leave the industry with regrets over what we left undone. I am confident other manufacturers will pick up where we left off in creating the industry standard, highly detailed replicas. A sincere thank you to our loyal customers, distributors, and vendors throughout the years. Any inquiries should be directed to info@twhcollectibles.com. I am sorry that we were unable to turn the business around. Best Wishes, John Hemken Former TWH Founder/Owner" This is a sad day at best!!!

Hate to see it happen, they really set the bar high in detail when they first came out (18000) but pissed the 31000 ain't happenin! Or any other manis for a while! Knew they were having problems but didn't want to see it happen. Hopefully nzg will pick up the Manitowoc/grove license.

Hello all,
DHS was just about to post this but you guys are too fast....
It is unfortunate circumstances as TWH produced a wonderful product and it was a great company to work with, especially in the early days.
This long-coming event has no effect on DHS Diecast as we stand strong and ready to fill your orders as usual. We were a distributor for TWH Collectibles for many years and we are sorry to see their line go away. The models they built were fantastic. Unfortunately, we believe they built too many of them, lowering their collectible value and worth. Many of their models are actually being given away these days because their value has declined so much.
I would not be surprised if some of the licenses, Manitowoc and Caterpillar for example, were picked up by other manufacturers. So keep an eye out - these companies are too interested in scale models to let them just go away!
Many of you know that Sword Models were built by using TWH Collectibles as a broker with the factory in China. Please be aware that Sword Models has secured the ability to move forward with some re-usable tooling as well as plans to produce new models in the very near future. We worked very hard to insure there will be no issues for the Sword Line of models to continue. Plans for new Sword Models will be announced at the DHS Diecast Open House at the end of July!
We just want to be sure that everyone knows we are not going anywhere! We have been linked to TWH in the past and we want you to know that our relationship was that of a distributor for their product and they made some models for us. We have many other product lines to present (just check out our website for details) and are working to be the best construction and truck model dealer in the world!
Thanks - see you at Open House!
Chuck

Sorry for being so quick but it had hit my Facebook page and I figured I'd get it here first!!!
Glad to hear Sword is picking up the pace some as the Sword line is just as good as the TWH is/was. Can't wait to see what's up with the new Sword models so keep us posted!!

Sorry to hear this, but as was said already over-production would be an understatement. Definately a shame, as some of their models were very well done.

From the Drake Collecables Facebook Page....
Please find following a statement from TWH Collectibles. In response to this announcement I would like to thank TWH for their help over the last few years.
I would like to take this opportunity to ensure everyone that this announcement has no impact on Drake Collectables. Drake collectables owns all our own tooling and has direct licences an agreement in place with the OEM’s to continue producing “Museum Class Replicas” of Australian truck and trailer combinations.
Which is good news for all downunder ...

Wow, what a bummer. I just took delivery of my second LeTourneau L-1850 with the 55yd bucket in yellow from DHS. I paid a hundred bucks less than my first LT back in 2008. It is a fantastic model and it will be all the more special in light of the bad news..

I'm shocked. I had no idea that they were in trouble. Sad to see them go, but hopefully a quality model manufacturer will pick them up.

Thats a real shame. I don't own any TWH pieces but have been impressed with the range they have produced over the years and have generally heard good things. Hopefully this can be turned into a positive with other companies picking up the slack and free'd up licences. Glad to hear Sword / Drake etc won't be effected. Rowan. 1:25th scale CAT 375L excavator

Hi ULF,
Just to be completely clear, DHS is the owner of Sword Models, not TWH. TWH was our broker and engineered many of the Sword Models over the years - and they did a fantastic job. We actually have access to the same engineers and factory who made the Sword Models as well as many other options - so no worries - we are moving forward.
Thanks!
Chuck (SWORD).

I know one item that Sword and TWH have in common, it's the Vermeer TG7000 Tub Grinder. I asked about it in another thread as the Peterbuilt tractor is a Sword vehicle and the tub grinder is TWH. I also know one item that TWH did that I enjoy very much and that's the Gar-Bro concrete bucket. Now come to see things I have several TWH models and only one is a lift model, the National 1300 boom truck is the only lift vehicle I have from TWH.
My TWH models are,
Tub Grinder Mechanics truck Jerr Dan Rollback tow truck 1300 boom truck Oshkosh snow blower Oshkosh concrete truck Oshkosh Striker crash fire truck
I just think these models are awesome and every once in a while I find something on them that I didn't see at first and it's like getting the model for the first time all over again!!

It is sad to see them go under because they had a lot of good things going for them and they did make a good product just think they missing something that other manufactures were successful in doing. I think on their crane models they focused more over detail than functionality which really made me disappointed when I bought one of their Manitowoc 4100's. Crane models have to functional and Conrad and NZG have always mastered that skill. Also think they should have included more boom than what came with the base model without buying extensions. I Really think they excelled in 1/50th trucks as they were able to both capture detail and functionality that no other diecast manufacturer in my eyes could have compete with in any scale. Also if you look at the S Series Mixer, It had way to many axles that deterred a lot of collectors like me. There is only a certain geographical niche area where cement mixers are setup with that many axles. It almost seemed like TWH decided to make a mixer with that many axles just to showoff their capabilities of making a well detailed model when they should have based the truck's axle configuration of the 1/34 First Gear Oshkosh S Series which is more common setup in the United States. I think another thing that might have lowered the value of their products is the liveried versions. They focused too much on liveries for trucks and equipment when they should have increased production numbers on plain color releases. Again sad to see them go but I think they made several bad decisions along the way that caused their value to decrease.
