Long slings, and cw slings. Not interested in using wire, just string.

If you are trying to make wire rope slings and such, I buy 7x7 strand 1/32", 1/16", and 1/8" wire rope. then I use copper or aluminum oval compression sleeves to make the eyes, etc.

Some of my work:

Rebuild pendants on Liebherr HS 855

or slings like this:

Let me know if this is what you are looking for and I will forward you all of the McMaster-Carr part numbers

Dan

1:1 or 1:50, I am still in awe.

I do some wire rope lines and have also done new pendent lines for my HS 855 too.

I use either fish line leader (with the swivels) in silver or black coated or I recently found some bead stringing wire that is great too. The beading wire is 49 strand and takes more weight. I also use crimp tubes for beading as they are small and crimp better and they come in silver and black colors. The fish leader stuff can be bought in Walmart or similar store and the crimp tubes can be gotten in the craft department. The stuff can also be ordered over the internet. I do know that the beading wire can be ordered from Walmart online or other online beading companies.

I get most of my other half's beading stuff from a place called Fire Mountain Gems, and here is the beading wire I use and here is the type of crimp tube I use. I do know Fire Mountain Gems ships internationally too and they have the best prices other than Walmart. They also have other stuff that works really well for scale modeling too!!!

I'm a kid at heart, so I will play with any model construction vehicle from 1:87 scale to 1:1 scale!!!!

Robert, here are some slings that I made:

I bought the yellow ribbon at AC Moore

Here are some straps lifting a slab of granite:

Here's how to make slings out of string the same length:

Use crimp tubes and the crimping tool from AC Moore.

You should also have some spreaders, this one is aluminum:

How about some chain rigging? the chain is from AC Moore

Cable slings and spreaders:

It's pretty sad when the only modeling tool you own is a box cutter.

If the only tool you have is a hammer, you start to see every problem as a nail. Abraham Maslow
