Very nice. One question what thickness of tubes did you use?

Good job Mike, now one thing additional that can be done is to bevel the bottom edge of each side like the real ones have that help it to seat in the bottom of the trench. I like the idea you did with the tubes and making them removable and this would also lend it to having tubes of different lengths which would make the box be wider or narrower too!!

Thanks Dan! Diecast Logger wrote:Very nice. One question what thickness of tubes did you use?
Thanks. Honestly I have no idea lol, I found it laying around and it seemed to fit well. I remember I bought it at a hobby shop around me. dain555 wrote:Good job Mike, now one thing additional that can be done is to bevel the bottom edge of each side like the real ones have that help it to seat in the bottom of the trench. I should have done that, I was thinking to bevel the edge, but passed on it. I thought about the different sized tubes as well, this way you don't have to have a bunch of different trench boxes on site!

Not all boxes are knife edge, in fact most of our pipe crews prefer flat bottom like that one.

Mike, you should make the trip down to Buffalo to the IMCATS show, bring your diorama- It would be well received! Daily Diesel Dose.com| All Ready Mix.com | Plowsite DOT Thread | If your only contribution is complaining, please don't contribute!
