Great idea Stephen The LR1600 shows all the little things that make such a big difference like the newer cab and the correct style of tracks. That's a phenominal crane collection you have

Thanks Paul, birdman gave me the idea of posting some pics of them both together, Your right about those details, also the boom/jib ends being painted black makes a nice difference.

Thanks Luis, it's an ongoing project at the moment. I'm currently building a display shelf for my HH collection I'll be posting more pics as things come to completion.

I saw the difference in the first photo, the 1600 has black shives on the jib head and the 1750 has gray ones. I am sure this is because the 1750 shives are a one piece plastic set where the 1600 being done by NZG uses metal separate shives.
Awesome collection too and thanks for showing the differences but you also have to remember they are 2 different companies that made them too.
Sorry for any misspellings as we are on day three of rain (heavy at times) here in Florida and at 9:30 am it is like it is at 7:30 pm and I'm working off the light from the computer screen so as to not wake up the other half!!

Thanks Dain, My intentions were to show the little design differences like the jib heads and derricks also the size comparison between the two. No need to apologise about spelling

Great comparison, and great collection, too! Crawler pads make such a huge difference on the 1600. Really makes you realize how stupid the 1750 looks with those CC8800 pads on it. I never had a problem with plastic sheaves, and I hate the look of unpainted brass ones. Nice that NZG made them black. The painted ends of the boom sections are great. I never understood how Mammoet would issue models without them. I know, cost is probably the reason, but they sell out whatever they sell, at whatever price they charge. Nice pendants on the 1600. Looks like you upgraded the 1750, which is a huge improvement over the plastic Conrad originals. It really looks like NZG did their homework on this one. Conrad has always been reliable in both their crawlers and AT cranes, and NZG has done some really stupid things in the past (AC200 too wide, 1-piece sheaves, GMK7450 terrible counterweight attachment) but I see they are a lot more equal now. Thanks for the post.

Hi JohnGalt, Thanks for your comment, I've never really minded the plastic sheaves once the excess plastic has been trimmed off but I thought the pendants were a must, I'll be doing the same to my CC8800 at some point, shame metal pendants are not available for LR 1280's and 5500 Starlifters.
Another thing to add to the AC 200 list is the single piece counter weight.

A suggestion for all who own a 1750 or other Conrad cranes, if the connections are like they are on the new LTC 1045-3.1 and use the plastic pins you can change them out with small brass bolts similar to what NZG uses with most of their cranes.
I found on my Liebherr LTC 1045-3.1 that the holes for the plastic pins are a 0 (zero) gauge so that a bolt the size of 0-80 would fit just nicely. I used some 0 (zero) gauge rod and threaded one end and placed a nut on it. I know the NZG HS 855 HD crane uses 00-90 bolts for the boom connections. The connections on the Conrad LTC 1045-3.1 are for the 3 places on the fly jib, I even made a couple long rods for the boom head where the fly jib attaches to keep the pulley shafts from popping out when the fly jib is not in use.
Hope this info helps as I know some of the crane collectors here have had collapse issues when the plastic boom pins failed on the Conrad models.

Just a couple pics of most of my heavy haulage collection, I spent quite a few hours building the shelf they are displayed on, it just needs a couple finishing touches and then I'm happy. Stephen.
