Hello everyone. I am brand new to this forum and I wanted to show everyone what I've picked up since I started my collection. Construction has always been my biggest interest. I am now 18 and I work as an operator. Now that I work and have my own money I started my collection. I Just started collecting 1/50 scale models a little bit ago. I bought a few in July and my collection has been slowly increasing since then.

Next I am planning on getting the Grove 5130 mobile crane. I saw one at a job site I was working. We were building a retaining wall around a cell tower. They had a small mobile crane the first day I was there. The second day the brought in the HUGE!!!! Grove 5130.

Welcome to the forums!!

If I might give a tip here, on the East dump trucks, especially the dump trailer, I took and replaced the "wood" side boards with real wood boards. I used basswood strips that were the same size but used only 4 of them on the dump trailer making the split fall in the center bolting spots. On the Dump truck you could get away with 2 strips for it. I do know the basswood strips make it look 100% better and as it ages will look more typical than the plastic "boards", also you can nick and gouge the real wood like it gets from the loading equipment to make it look more realistic.

I'm a kid at heart, so I will play with any model construction vehicle from 1:87 scale to 1:1 scale!!!!

Age is a state of time NOT a state of mind!!

Sometimes realizm is in the camera angle too. Welcome to the forum. You've got a sweet collection started. I'm more on this side of things, though.
