Hey guys,

Its been a while since I've posted but here are some shots I took recently of a fairly large project that involves grinding off old asphalt and laying some fresh blacktop in its place. Idaho Sand And Gravel is doing the paving and hauling away the old asphalt while Western Construction is doing the actual milling.

Western brought the biggest mill they have which is a Terex/CMI 1050. This thing is a beast.

Hope you enjoy the shots, ill be going back soon for some more.

Those are some nice streets to be milling and filling. Around here we patch and resurface when the pothole cover more than 50% of the road. The good thing is we have completed more 4-lane highway that nobody uses.Confused

Do they use those trailer dumps for hauling fresh asphalt? It looks like they work okay for picking up millings.

No way! I was wondering way they used at that job since my brother goes to school right down the road. I'm glad there's another idahoan on the forums. Idaho can be pretty stupid with road work. They redo perfectly fine spots and leave the cruddy ones....

Yeah, it was a lot of luck. I just happened to be looking for something else and stumbled upon this project. Western and Idaho Sand will be doing a few more of these projects as the spring progresses. I can send you a list of the dates and projects if you'd like.
