That's pretty much my dream to be able to set all my cranes up like that in a large building! Looks great.

Hey Jose...that's max main boom = 10 x 12's + 4 x 6's. The extra boom sections was a piece of luck...fellow forum friend Nigel (riever125 ) came good with half a dozen used ones at a good price and I snaffled them. All I need now is another half dozen of 1750 sections and I will be a pig in the proverbial. Another reminder to self: Never ever try to change the colour of plastic pendants and pins and don't paint Conrad winch drums! That looks awesome! I am always at odds with myself when I see your photos of the cranes. On the one hand I am thinking "Wow! That is so cool to be able to have the room to display cranes like that, especially the height! How jealous am I??" But on the other hand I am thinking "dust must be a bitch! How does he keep them clean?" But either way, I am envious of the room you have to display the cranes in their full glory! Crane Crew wrote:

I used to be the same but then found some primer that is suited to plastic parts. I recently painted my Dufour pendants and drums and so far so good. Paul R

Thanks Paul ….and Gus. The shed……when I started this hobby of scratch-built concept cranes over 30 years ago I managed in one bay of a two bay garage and a 20 ft. container. Almost 3 years ago Prostate cancer reared its ugly head, so I said to my retirement fund manager “GIMME” and had the shed built and started collecting diecast. I wish I had spent the extra to fully seal it…but ah well! I did use 20 tubes of silicon though, everywhere except the ceiling. Now that I am officially retarded.. oops!... that should have been retired, I get to spend a lot of time in my grotto. 1 hour cleaning- 1 x contemplating stuff and the rest..........................!! Being able to walk around each one makes it easier too. Painting plastic…..the etch primer has worked for me before, but didn’t take this time, for some reason… I didn’t bath the pendants cause they came straight out of a Conrad bag. I have since been recommended to use a specific plastic primer and rough them up. Now to clean them up….lucky I’m retarde…oops there I go again! Matching paints seems to be a problem over here as well. I had some made up to RAL codes which they cross- referenced to our system and I’m half colour blind and can see the difference. As the jib section below. The worst part was they had the counterweight. Hey brother Gus….I said they were coming to a good home. Hi Mark, I used to frequent the forum quite a bit and have only recently returned. Your collection is beyond amazing, jaw dropping actually! I have had many friends go through prostate cancer and go on to live healthy happy lives. Cheers to you mate! From South of the border... Rowan. 1:25th scale CAT 375L excavator
