Only the first 2 produced (509 & 510) which Thiess use at Burton Coal.Could be wrong about their second unit though.

If I'm reading this right, it's a little bit of a shame that Conrad didn't stick an engine in the model to add a little authenticity. Even the 996 has lift out engines.

I guess without Bruce's post/photos and Ulrich's eagle eyes I would never have known but now I do know it bugs me just the tiniest bit.

"Just a big open space", indeed!.

Great pics and diorama though Bruce.

No, engine bay is empty with original model.
Engine block was cast in resin and framework made of styrene. Fine mesh added to walkways /radiator.

Beautiful work Bobcat. the other thing I noticed is there is an operator in the LTM1200, how did you get him in there.

To put operator in you need to pull cab apart.
Drill head of rivet that cab pivots on.
Push out rest of rivet
Pull cab off
Remove the plastic pin that sticks out of bottom of cab buy pulling
Prize off the bottom of cab to get the interior out.
Stick your little 1:50 scale friend in ( I had to slice his legs down to get him to fit in seat, my crane driver was carrying a few too many pounds!)
Then put all back together.

Hope that helps, the cranes don't look very good in active dioramas without operators.

I did that to my LR 1750 too. Sounds like my Conrad cab was an easier job as I don't recall having to drill rivets, fortunately.

I cutted one of my Liebherr operator to the hips and knees in diagonal and reglued with proper angles. You would'nt see any difference. He had recovered well. He's even planning to do a Ironman Whatever

Is this modeled with the 42 or 47 cm bucket?

OK found out it is modelled with a 42 m³ backhoe attachment for those interested.

Hello group, today I recieved my R9800 backhoe and it's an amazing model but I have a small problem.

If you look at the small video I made you will see that the main stick is quite loose where it connects to the body.

Does anybody have any thoughts about what might be the problem and how to fix it?.

Thanks.

Probably the screw(s) that hold(s) the boom block on the baseplate is loose.

Thanks Jan, yes, I thought it might be something like that.

Do you know if it's easy to fix?. I haven't really looked at the model too closely.

I think the same as janh, and a loose screw is the likely issue.
I am about to pull a9800 backhoe apart for the diorama. I will try to do later today and post photo of how to fix.
As long as it is a loose screw ( not a damaged thread) then it will be relatively easy fix.Smile

Hi Bruce, thanks very much.

I've emailed my dealer tonight to make him aware of it and to discuss returning it for either a refund or a replacement.

I'd still be interested in your photos though.

My only worry is indeed that it might be something more so perhaps returning it is the safer option.

Thanks again.

To check tighten the boom mount.

1. Pull out the hoses, simply grab the silver section and pull up.
"/>

2 prize out the little plastic cover that is between the two boom pins
"/>
3 pull out cover, note it needs to come straight up to get the pin part of it to come out,
"/>
4. Stick in Phillips head screwdriver and tighten away!
"/>

The just put it all back! It is very easy.

Bruce, thank you. I didn't detect any noticeable slackness in the scews but I turned the screws just a little more and it has made a small difference. It's not perfect.
