just picked up the Kenworth K200 Prime Mover with Drake 2x8 Dolly and 3x8 Swingwing Trailer in Chrome Yellow and need a realistic load for it. What would you guys recommend? Would a Cat 5110B or Cat D11R be too large?
Give me a few machine ideas if you can!

2x8 3x8 combo is good for around 70t payload. A D10t, Cat 365b, Maybe even a Komatsu 375 dozer would be suitable loads. D8t is what I'm chasing down now for my NQ rig. And if your adventurous. A 793f dump body would be a good load.

I got a D10T I think so that is what I will use for the NQ K200 Combi. What about the NQ T909? It has the 2x8 4x8 trailer combo so perhaps can hold a little more? Daft thing so far - the models made it from QD in about 3 days but then has been stuck at the sorting office since Sunday!! Paul R

As for the 2x8 4x8 combo. Good for around 80t. I got a ZX870 without the cw on it. Cat 374, Cat 777, Komatsu 785(when released), and so on.

Thanks Robert. I do have the ZX 870 and a CAT 375 so one of those might work. Also have a 777 somewhere Assuming they arrive today (Thursday) then it will have been 7 days, which to be fair is pretty damn good! Just by a quirk of fate, I think my NQ LTM 1200-5.1 will arrive today. It came from our host but was shipped to a US address by my request. It has now found its way here in the middle of a pallet of other stuff for our UK distributor Paul R

Some nice loads there Robert. I cannot find my D10T! God only knows where it is so I will have to use something else. I did find the CAT 375 without the stick so maybe that would work for the 2x8 3x8 combo? Got my 777D so good to go on the 2x8 4x8 Combo Paul R

Yep 375 without stick and bucket should work on 3x8. Dolly at 3.7m trailer at 4.2 metres wide. With the 777, open the trailer to 3m, straddle the steer of the 777 to the rear. And have dolly at 3.7 metres. King pin on front hole.

I really like the Vestas...Looks to be just the right weight at 70 tons and a nice size! Plus it will go well with the hub and blade I have.

We should have a thread or sticky on this subject. "What trailers can properly carry what machines/weights." For Australian trailers, US and EU/UK, proper weights and truck/trailer setup. Robert, do you have more pictures of your K200s and the ZX870? I currently have a K200 with 3x8 swinging and 2x8 dolly. I currently display it with my Komatsu HM400 Water truck or my Valmet 445EXL Harvester. Im buying a ZX870, and I guess I'm going to have to be illegal with that for a while until I can buy a 5x8 Swingwing. Not planning on buying a 4x8 unless a deal comes my way. Is there any way to make a ZX870 legal on a 3x8? Remove CW and Bucket? Stick too? I wish the tracks were removable on these. Im really hoping Drake offers a K200 with 2x8 and 5x8 and not just the C509. Not interested in traditional trucks. Im a die hard cab over fan! "/> "/> "/> "/>

Word on the street is their MAY be a special release K200 combo along these lines coming later in the year

"/> "/> "/> "/> The water cart there is legal loaded like that without the Dolly, A ZX870 without cw or Bucket should just come in on your wieghts. I'll get some pics if i get the chance.

Thank you Robert, I've been searching on Google and Liking Haulage pages on FB to see how they set up their rigs for ideas. I've liked the Betts page, Winterfields, Membreys, Kendall, Hogans etc.
That would be cool if I can make an 870 legal on the 3x8 with dolly and put the CW and Bucket on another truck. It's going to take me a while to save up for a 5x8 combo especially since I want a K200 with 2x8 and 5x8 not a T or C truck.

Gents, My Mc Aleese Drake trailers: the 5x8 Swingwing is carrying a Komatsu D 375A-5 bulldozer (67.68 tonnes), while the 6x8 is loaded with a Caterpillar 657G push-pull scraper (66.62T). Cheers. Guy
