Brett, one question: what are those snorkel-type intakes on each sides of the cab? Heavy duty air filters?
Since I assume the trucks are not meant to cross deep water, I assume these snorkels do not have the same purpose as the off road vehicles... right?

Stephane yes air intakes for the filters there up high to gain clean air from the dusty roads here in the outback ** The extra ones on the back of the sleeper bunks of the McAleese trucks i'm presuming are for the air conditioner's so the filters have a longer life & don't fill with dust as easy. the dust here in the outback is like driving through baby powder "bull dust holes" cattle roadtrain truck drivers will cross rivers / floodways as deep as they can with out submersing the fuel filler caps. .

All air intakes of the rear of the cabs/bunks are oil coolers for the Joey boxs and diffs. Gearbox and diff temps get right up there out in the outback so oil coolers are added to the driveline.
