Both of my NZG 627 scrapers I bought needed help. One had tires that melted to the wheels, the other had more chips than a bag of Doritos. So don't hand out pitch forks and torches because I ruined something priceless.

I was going to just freshen the models up, however I could not leave well enough alone. But this idea popped into my head of updating to model to look more like the later versions. I had two cabs from the Ertl 631E's sitting around. I convinced myself to start yet another project.

A 627B and one 627EWhistle

A 627E

And so I started like a mad scientist to hatch my evil plan Shhh

If you need more reference photos there's 27B's and E's all over the place here. Just ask and you'll get.

Thanks guys.

Started on the rear of the machines. They needed to be a little longer.

If i was you, i would'nt feel too bad for wrecking some NZG models that are already in bad shape.....if they were mint with the original box, than that might be a different story
I see your little bag of "size and shapes".....that thing is handy, is'n it!!??
Keep us updated, it look great so far.

Cat 245.....Now and Forever

I am looking for industrial auction brochures from Ritchie Bros, Miller & Miller, Forke Bros, First Team Auction, Max Rouse, etc from the 70's, 80's and 90's.I am a collector and heavy equipment enthusiast and these pamphlets are loaded with nice pictures of cleaned and freshly painted equipment.Thet don't have much value once the sale is over but they are a great help to me in preserving the memory of machines that are no longer being built. Please, help my hobby by looking in your old storage boxes and file folders for these old auction sale brochures.Your help is much appreciated.

I have gone through 4 or 5 of those bags. They are great!

Working a little bit at a time. Found some speaker mesh from some Pioneer speakers. Looks okay for the "B" model rear grill. Decided the 627E will only have a hook on rear, no front bail.

Moving along. I built these on a night when I was not feeling too well. I have seen about a dozen styles of radiator guards of the rear of a 627. These were my two favorite.

Finished the 627's. It took a lot of time for these. The results are okay. Painting these was challenging because of all the angles on some of the castings.
