I have just read on Hansebube that this model is now available and shipping from some European dealers.

Can also be ordered from DHS of course: http://www.dhsdiecast.com/Terex-3800-Superlift-Crawler-Crane/productinfo/CON2744/

I was told they were coming in about 3 weeks, that was about a week or so ago.
Was told conrad finished production, don't know if that includes the baumann version or not.
So hopefully mine will be here in a week and a half or so Pray
Starting to have crane withdrawals over here

Did they change the tracks on this model? Or did they use the same old tracks they use.

This is the determining factor as to whether I buy or not. Time for a change.

I'd say still the same old tracks, as they were still used on the baumann version

I would say you are correct, which would be deeply disappointing for a model that is very close to $1000USD.

I have only seen the Terex version available here, not the Baumann yet.

Yes it is disappointing they still choose to use those old chunky tracks. And it looks like they are keeping the cab windows blacked out too.
Would think after seeing their new liebherr models, R960 I think it is, they were stepping up their detail, seems the 3800 was left out of that department, but they did update the sheaves and added the safety cables along the boom and walkways. Not much but a great improvement I must say.

Also looking at past photos, I noticed they had the counterweights on the floating tray, like all one piece and a big hole drilled through, to reduce the weight, so it doesn't tip backwards, I really hope this isn't on the final version, if so, she will be going back or replaced with actual weights.

I think those pics of the 3800 from the show were very pre-prototype,I think it was actually Rainer who told me that a lot of these very early proto-types are made from resin, and as it was displayed on a hot day in a glass case the resin would soften,so counter weights were lightened by boring out large holes, this would help the jib, mast etc from sagging in the heat,

I too hope there are new pads used and the cab glass is clear,I still feel the cab glass will be clear, won't put me off getting one, there is way too few Terex crawlers out there

Why is "phonetically" spelt with a "ph"?

The complex of Newgrange was originally built between c. 3100 and 2900 BC,[2] meaning that it's aproximately 5,000 years old. According to Carbon-14 dates,[3] it is more than 500 years older than the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt, and predates Stonehenge by about 1,000 years.

Clear cab glass and new tracks would make it a great model I think. The hooks look very nice.

Is this going to be much better than the lr 1600/2 because the price says it should be? I know Conrad seems to be a bit more expensive than NZG hence the ac 1000 vs the 11200 and the quality doesn't seem to be the same between the two. Whoever is buying this thing let us know if it is worth the massive price tag.

I can't see this even matching the LR 1600/2 much less better. Based on photos I've seen on Facebook.

it won't compare detail wise i don't think, but conrad stuff is built stronger and able to break apart for transport easily, is overpriced compared to the 1600, just how conrad is. but conrad has stepped it up, metal pulleys, etched walkways now, better pendants.
you will never get a perfect model, just face the fact..
i don't think it looks all that bad honestly, besides the tracks
I'm just happy to see another terex model crane...
i hope they make extensions for this thing Pray

It will probably take me three or four months to get enough money together, but, I plan on getting one. I have spent more on some of my trains, so a crane won't matter.
