Well me and my daughter took a nice 4 hr drive down to the Houston area yesterday to go see this crane. Got lucky it was close to a road for some awesome pictures. The pictures do not do justice for the size of the crane it is huge. Wish I coud have gotten up close to it but I will take what I got over never seeing it. We got here about 430 so not much time for pics before the sun set, as you can see there was a bunch of big cranes. LR 13000, LR1750 CC2800 Mani 2250 few more aswell 2250 shadowed by the giant Here is a great shot of the site What a giant crane Huge block Jason NIkl Scale Models

Jason,
Where about in Houston was this? If I has some free time tomorrow I would to check it out. I'm wondering if the LR13000 was a little overkill for this job?

Just to add my 2 cents for the great photos, what a beast!. I know the counter weights are concrete but I still wish they were painted/coloured

That's actually 5 min from my house. Where the vessel is by the shell dock, they have been bringing in several huge pieces and frac towers over the past six months. Something big must be coming soon because they are preparing the area down by the water and releveling and bringing in gravel and stabilizer
