Did a bit of crane spotting just before Christmas around the Lancaster and Morecambe area, quite a bit of work going on with the new M6 link and a number of wind turbines going up

First Sarens LG1550 on M6 link placing beams to abutments over railway

Just thought I would slip this one in, my version in 1:50

Ainscough's LTM1500 on wind turbine job, access is pretty poor on this one and security are keen, and the weather has been pretty bad of late.

As far as I know both jobs are still ongoing, the railway job can only do the lifts early on Sunday morn, once they get possession of the railway, and then its only a 6 to 8 hour slot. Still 2 more beams to go in.
The Ainscough job I believe there are 3 wind turbines to go up, but not to sure when the next are planned, watch this space.
There is a video of the Sarens LG1550 that a friend of a friend has done using one of those new quadcoppter set ups

Hope to get a few more shots in the coming days watch this space.

Steve.

Fantastic photo's Steve!! The quad copter video is very interesting also...

I believe Mammoet's LTM11200 or sarens AK680 may be putting the bridge in over the river at some point early next year?

Nice photos and amazing video from the drone. Smile Just wondering, what bridge are they building? Is it a highway of some sorts?

Nice photos as usual Steve. That LG is a real nice crane. Like how you've set up your 1:50 version to mirror the real crane Cool

That's an interesting wind brace frame they have at the base of the jib on the LTM 1500. I've never seen that before. Great pics. TFS

Sam, Have heard that the beams for the River Lune crossing are to arrive on site end of Feb early March 2015 and a 1200 tonne crane to lift in, I hope to be able to get a few shots.

And here I am having sold the derrick of my LG 1550 model because the original crane didn't have one Teeth

Well since both Sarens LG 1550 cranes #2176 and #2511 never had a derrick, this must be the derrick of the Sarens LTM 1800.

Thanks Steve for these unique pictures and video Smiley
