Its that time of the year again where I get to cash out my government saving account Wink I'm planning on picking up a few models I have wanted for years and was wondering if any of you are planning the same thing? Mine will be going towards creating my dream diorama....once I have the space for it of course.

Quite the opposite for me - I had a large tax bill which means I have to be very careful. No new models for some time

I wish. I've curtailed the model purchasing, and instead, have been paying for clothes and college funds for 2 boys, for the past 3 years. There are a lot of kick-ass models that I've had to take a pass on, and I guess I should sell off some old ones if I hope to fund any new ones.
Which ones do you have your eyes on?

Whistle
They don't get much bigger than those first 3 on the list. What will the diorama be: the SGC and the PTC playing "catch" with the coke drum?
Good luck, and I hope you have a creative accountant to get that kind of refund.

The plan is to have the PTC lifting a Coke Drum into place with one of my Coke Drum sets. The other coke set will be displaying the drum in transport so people can get the idea of how they were moved.

The SGC is being added because I couldn't decide on either the PTC or that monster, so the only logical option was to purchase both to prevent me from wishing I had bought the other.

Being up in Canada my currency is losing value daily! Those 11200's that cost you guys about 710.00 are costing me about 900.00 with shipping! Sad really but I really want to get a hold of a Neeb ltm 1500.

A Millwright..... in Alberta.

I feel your pain Alberta Millwright, I'm in the same boat with you. It could be some scary times for some of us, everyone I talk to is in "panic mode". My collecting is on hold right now until things stabilize.

I have some money coming but it seems wise to use that towards a down payment for a house. A little of it will go to a CCM 349E and maybe, maybe some 200-300 ton crawler crane.

Yeah I don't buy many models now either, doesnt even really excite me anymore. There's plenty that I'd like to have but have more important stuff to spend my money on like a house, a new car and 3 kids

Like others have mentioned it's difficult being a Canadian model collector right now with the way the oil prices are and our dollar being so low. I had planned on getting a few more models, but it seems wise to just wait this whole thing out until everything settles back to an appropriate figure. I guess only time will tell when that happens.

I will probably buy something, but most of it will go to paying off what I have already purchased.

Good gracious, if you get that much back in taxes-you might want to consider refilling out your tax forms!

I don't get much back in taxes, have our checks taking out the right amount. Plus I don't like giving the government interest free loans.
