I was at my local Home Depot last weekend for my weekly dose of "do I really need it" fix. First thing I see is a sign announcing recondition lightly used tools.

I see this Honda powered lawn mower. I lifted the rear bag cover and see - rust city. They call that lightly used and reconditioned?

Then I move around and see the price

Sitting across the floor was a stack of "new" Honda powered mowers on sale for $175. I think I'll go with the new one but for fun I asked the sales associate if he'll take $50 for it. His reply: I'll have to ask the manager. The manager's reply: Sorry but I can't go that low.

Pass.

Does not look Refurbished to me, somebody probably returned it, and they kept it out in the garden center rusting it up. I have a HRX Honda, not a bad mower, but they have carb problems. I think I got to put a new carb in mine.

I don't think they did a thing the mower - it doesn't even have a gas cap on the tank!
