Hey all,
I just got a YCC LTM 1400, I want to display it lifting a CAT 795 haul truck bed. My question is since the bed is pretty heavy I was wondering if this will damage the crane in the long term holding such a heavy load. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
-SS

I think the only effects would happen in the lift cylinders on boom and outriggers. Not sure if the out riggers are screw type or if the boom cylibdrrs have set screws. I assume you would only be lifting a couple inches? You could put some kind of clear plastic for support that way it would mostly be invidible. Place it therewhen you are not taking pics or anything , or make some wood cribbing like the crane is setting or lifting off the cribbing. That way it looks like the crane is lifting but most of the bed weight is on the cribbing.

I have the 1400 and it is a solid model. I cant see any issue with hanging the bed from it so long as its not at a wide radius.

There are two rules for success: 1. Never tell everything you know.

Thank you guys for the advice, I really appreciate the help. This is an exceptional model and I defiantly want to protect it.

Ill take more pictures once I get it set up in the case and with the right lifting straps.

Sincerely,
-SS

You could:

- build a clear plastic support (ex made of plexiglass) to put on the CAT 795 frame;

- leave the truck bed on the frame or on the ground, as the lifting operation has just finished (or hasn't started yet)

- use the fishing line to support all the bed weight, joining it one side to the hole on the bed and the other side on a shelf or the ceiling, or something else over the model.

Looking at your pictures, I would say you are ok. Your boom sections are not fully extended, so the sections still inside the booms will help relieve some of the pressure. You may get some cable stretch after a while with it hanging, but that should not be much.

Hi All,

This is the final set up. I decided to rest the bed on a plastic riser, better safe than sorry. Thank you all for your advice. Let me know your thoughts.

Sincerely,
-SS

Excellent solution and you still get the impression of the dump bed being lifted.
