Ertl has announced both the 843L buncher and 948L skidder in 1/50 scale due for release in July.

The buncher looks interesting. If the detail is half way good, I will get one.

Ertl is pretty much dissapointing, I wish someone else could pick up deere licence. Athearn had it for a bit and be nice if they got into 1/50 more than a couple ag tractors. Ertl will probably have to retool ( not that they will) for all the final tier 4 machines. Deere has made a lot of changes throughout there line to accept all the aftertreatment garbage.

Well, I for one am very excited! The forestry guys have been lucky lately.
But where did you find these announcments? In the 2015 catalog neither the construction OR forestry lines have no new offerings. Maybe the construction line will have some surprises too?

I like the Ertl JD forestry equipment just because they are the only ones that make it. I want to get the 3 Tonkin CAT forestry pieces in hopes that they are better then the ERTL pieces. Forestry Equipment is my favorite to collect besides heavy haulers so I'll take what I can get. I will always be looking for the Sword Calmet wheeled harvester and forwarder to have with my 445EXL. I got a chance to see a brand new JD 859M on Saturday. Boy is it a huge and impressive machine. "/> "/> "/> "/>

I saw toytractortimes post a link to the Spring 2015 Deere flyer on Facebook, I do hope to see a few construction models this year.

They're really promoting the 1050K dozer a lot, so that would be a logical choice for a new piece. Having said that, considering the detail of the 944K it will still be a toy and not a model in my opinion.

A 245G LC or 350G LC would be nice as well. But most of all a 710K in 1/50. I'll take a dozen.........

I would imagine we will see a 1050k, there are promoting them fairly heavily at our dealer. It would be cool to see a 710 and maybe a 380glc

I am just posting this for those who may not have seen this yet. Coming this fall Ertl has announced they will be releasing two new 1/50 scale John Deere forestry models in their prestige line, the 859M tracked Feller buncher and the 859MH tracked Harvester. these models will have metal tracks and opening compartments. And the 948L and 843L are now in stock at dealers.

I am so happy they are making the 859M! Having seen it in person (my pics above) it's an impressive and big machine! Much bigger then a Valmet 445EXL!
I know to many the ERTL forestry machines are toys but they are still technically models and they are the best we have for current production forestry models (excluding the few Tonkin models and hard to find Valmet models)
I will plan on buying the 859M right away and hopefully the other models eventually.
IMHO they are on the same level as some Norscot models and for me that's ok because it's the best we've got for now.

Really hope the 859 buncher comes out as a leveler machine...I have a few ideas in mind.

The 859M is a leveling Machine. It's list d as such in the John Deere web site and the one I took pictures of posted above is also a 859M leveling machine. The 853 is a fixed machine.
