nice except the large hole in the turntable (5th wheel) & the rear hitch could been better. .

Thanks for the input.
Not necessarily a logging rig but I guess it could be used for that.
I intentionally left the truck in its original condition. The tow hitch and fifth wheel are original to the model.

Isn't that the truck they use in San Salvador to stack the grape crates onto the frame and the winch pulls them up for the higher stacks?. The red paint doesn't match so it might be from the Guatemala Army. I think they use those for missile launchers. No no, now I remember. It was originally an Autocar design to carry whales for the Japanese Navy. Boy you can find the rarest models. CAW

nice model but still think hole in turn table (fith wheel) too big be better smaller to suit most trailer's the hitch need be a double tongue if that type as that's only good for a D shackle (ringfeeder be even better) .

From my own perspetive, if that model
A) Still has it's original packaging box (& certificate, if that applies);
B) Has never been modified in any way, the red color being the original paint and
C) you care about it's potential resale value,
... then I would not mess around with any modification and leave it in its original state.
But if none of the above applies, then I would simply replace (but still keep) the fifth wheel by one from WSI; quite easy to find. Then I would hand paint the mud flaps in either matte black or silver, and maybe glue a small detailed custom brass piece for the back hitch above the current one; that would be about it.
Still, modified or not, it remains a jewel, and a rare piece of collection. Thanks for showing.

Pretty neat Robert.
If you know Robert and read his text, he, for lack of better terminology, tinkers around (customizes) scale haulage trucks/tractors and trailers.
He knows what he's doin and what he wants.......we can decided if we like love or hate it.

I agree Cutter. But i love to give him the devil because he won't sell me his Autocar. This has been going on for 6 to 8 years. As for this truck, it's not one of his best, but it's okay. He puts out some of the finest custom work around. But don't tell him that I like him. CAW
