I took advantage of a new issue of these trailers and bought one. My local hobby shop had some of the original 4 axle trailers a couple of years ago and, I kicked myself later on for not getting one. Thanks Chuck for bringing these back. This is my first large truck model and, it is very nicely detailed and finished. Well worth the money. I have one question, is there any order that the hoses plug into the trailer? blue=hydraulic, red=electricity green=air? Can I put one of my Manitowoc 4100 cranes minus the counter weights on this trailer?

That is one of my favorite lowboys. The Red line is the Emergency air line and is always on the drivers side of the neck. Green is the electric cable, and Blue is the Service air line. Light cord goes in the middle a majority of time, or it can go on the passengers side. If you want hydraulic lines off the tractor you will need to install 2 lines. Weight wise, you can haul the car body without the track carriers (50,000 lbs), or the upper works,(81000). Track carriers weigh 37,000 each.. Ken

kcmtoys,
Your knowledge and real life experience is always appreciated !
I think RI Craneman's question is directly related to his new acquisition, his line color choices coming off the back of the Peterbilt 379 manufactured by Sword/WSI are the following:
red line - Emergency air green line - blue line - Service air
Your knowledgeable answer specified the following:
red line - Emergency air black line - Electric cable blue line - Service air ??? line - light cable
Two (2) questions: 1) Is the green line on the Sword/WSI tractor the electric cable? 2) You specified four lines, is the Sword/WSI missing a line?

kcmtoys, Thanks ! To clarify: red line - emergency air green line - electric cable/lights blue line - service air Found the following photograph of the prototype Rogers lowboy: It appears to me the red line - emergency air is indeed on the drivers side, the blue line - service line is on the passenger side and the green line - electric cable/lights is between them. You can also see the two (2) hydraulic connections/lines that kcmtoys refers to above the air and electrical connections.

Well then how about Cozad. Anyone got the license on that? I want a West Coast trailer Mr. Administrator. How much dough to produce a run of 300? You do all the work. I put up the cash. We split 50%/50%. I have almost $700 in the bank now. When do we get started? Colonel

Seriously though, heavy haul, heavy haul, heavy haul... And yes, Mr. Sword, you produce an outstanding trailer!

Yes Ken, that very nice man Wayne Day was going to produce that Cozad. I understand one fellow in Kentucky lost his butt on that investment. Wayne was a strange guy. Likeable, but hold on to your wallet. CAW

Truck Miniatures/Wayne Day............the trucks when produced in England were outstanding, later versions, not so much. The prototype of the Cozad trailer was outstanding, I do not remember who made the prototype, Wayne was looking for investors to have the Cozad trailer produced in quantity. The deal was you invested money to produce the molds and you had the privilege of being one of the first collectors to purchase one at full retail ! What a deal. Unfortunately Wayne's reputation preceded him and the project never got off the ground.
