Thanks for posting the pictures, Greg. Greg was such a big source of help and advice for me on the customizing. Thanks to Ken at the IMCAT show for the soldering lesson. The bucket came from Jnikl, also at the IMCAT show. The decals came from Shawn Lewis at BRI. All connections and piping are brass. I tried to copy as closely as I could the actual machine. I've done other models that were pictured on the Forum, the 5110 with the shear and a Link Belt 800 with an eccentric ripper. I've done a 336 and a 374 that I hope to post at some time. I have been lucky enough to see Mike's creations up close ever since he started high-detailing models. Just so you know, this guy ran excavators for a lot of years and when he shakes your hand, you know it. It is amazing to me that this big guy can build in miniature so well.
The models he builds just keep getting better and better. If you guys agree with me just by looking at this model, let him know!
The models he builds are amazing. The detail level from the grease lines to the hand-railings and connection points for all of the lines on the machine are so amazingly true to life. Check out all of the details by enlarging the photos - I am always impressed!
Nice work Mike - you keep getting better and better at this stuff!! I have been trying to get him to display at the model show for years11

Thanks so much for your kind comments.Thanks to Chuck for the kind words and for this forum. All the people at DHS are the best and I'm lucky to have them as friends. Its hard not to be inspired by the builders on the forum from around the world I'd like to add fire suppression units to the top of the counterweight. Any ideas? [Ken?]

Mike, your model is "Top Shelf"for sure! I am glad you liked my soldering demonstration, makes it worthwhile to help people in the hobby. I have some ideas for your fire suppression, I can talk to you at the show.  Ken

This is a great model. Those fine rails and mesh walkways do wonders, and the hydraulics are spot on! Need to see some photos outside in the sun to really show it off.

Amazing. I had thought about doing this with my 5110b and decided to make a bucket for it instead. I could never have achieved this, and it's really nice to see it!
