"You can't buy Happiness, but you can buy a bike and that's pretty close." I second that, qball. Man CCM, really, it is an amazing model - but I will go for a motorcycle. Awesome job again, it's that kind of scale model here I can identify details which I wasn't aware of the real machine.

She is the cat's meow for sure. There will only be 25 sets of these produced, which accounts for the cost. Believe me, everyone knows at CCM that this is an expensive model for collectors. As the costs rise in South Korea the chances of seeing models like this in the future will be less and less (at least in 1:24 scale). The few images posted are of the proto sample from Korea. Changes are being made to correct issues (mostly details) in areas such as the track frames, operators cab, hoods, main blade, hyd. hose routing, etc., etc., etc.

So is this it for awhile from CCM? No, sorry (glad?) to say. More big announcements in just a few weeks (but NOT on the scale or price of the Double Dude).

I hope they get back in the business of making 1/48 "modern" excavator models.

Nice models. How about a 225, 235 excavator, and a D8H in 1/48 scale?Whistle

Couldn't agree more with this. A 950 would look nice with it as well

Anything is possible if you don't know what you are talking about.

More "modern" excavators on the way, but still several months away from being unveiled.

By the way, the Double Dude (as modified) by CCM was modeled on how the unit operated in the early 1980s. Two sets of SxS D9H were set-up to run the BRAP-48 (sometimes referred to as A or B set). During this time period, the quickest way to tell the two sets apart was that one ran an aftermarket white AC unit, the other a yellow Cat factory one. There were other details that were also different. The blade had also gone through numerous modifications, including the removal of the blade "point" on the left side below the tow cable hook-up. But there was only one blade and rear tie bar (with the bend) that was fabricated for use on either set of tractors. In later years the grills of one of the sets was painted black so the tractors would not be mismatched during transport and set-up.

How is it BS? Eric didnt specify what the "modern" excavator on the way is, youve done the old assume trick there me thinks.

My take on his comment and the 6015B announcement being so close is that we well could be lucky enough to have another choice down the track, heres hoping and lets see if an announcement comes in a couple months!

CCM are swinging for the fence here and getting homers each time

I like those. But I can't afford CCM. Cat should do something about those cabs. Needs a cab riserThink

If it had a cab riser you would have more cost to mobe/demobe the machine between jobs. If you have your job set up right your always looking down into the truck anyways

BS? Well, now I remember why I do not post more. With that said, I wasn't thinking of this model, but several others in the works. My bad. I guess in the future I will be more careful in the wording of my posts.

That attitude would benefit several members of this forum beyond just you, so let's hope it becomes a trend?
