Just saw on Facebook that first gear is bringing a komatsu pc138-11 into production for summer 2017 in of course 1:50 scale. Looks like they are listening as this is one of only a few manufactures that make 14 ton zero swing excavators, deffinalty will be picking one up!

This is great! They probably saw how well the 335F did from DM and figured they should get on the wagon. Their 1/50 Komatsu releases have really sucked lately.

I guess they figure they should start listening to what collectors would like to see, as far as I know there's only a hand full of models made in the 12-15 ton excavator class. I would hope they continue to bring out more new items.

Unless I'm mistaken; this will only be the second 1:50 13-15 ton reduced radius crawler excavator with the Sumitomo SH135/145X being the first, but then again there have only been three in the larger weight classes (Hitachi ZX225, Volvo ECR235 and the Caterpillar 335).
Considering Link-Belt went with Replicars for their new 1:50 210 X4, maybe we can hope that somebody at Hitachi/Deere will consider producing the newly shown 345 through them?

Don't forget the WSI Liebherr R914 compact, the NZG Cat 312Bl and even though it's a touch lighter in weight, the NZG Terex tc125. As for the larger weight class liebherr have made the R924 and R926 in compact radius swing aswell. I do hope that the Deere 345G lc is made by someone other than ertl, it would make a competing seller for the Cat 335F L.

This topic has been brought up time and time again, apart from small corporate runs by nzg and conrad, which are virtually unattainable, it seems that John Deere will continue to go with tradition and stick with ertl as their primary model manufacturer since ertl and deere have had an agreement for over 80 years. Did anyone visit the Deere booth and see if there were any new models in the "Deere Gift Shop?" I remember from Con-Expo 2011 they released the 1/50 850K LGP Model without any announcement. I guess we'll see.............

You're right; I did forget to mention the Liebherr models even though two of the three are in my collection. I didn't include the Caterpillar 312 as it is not a reduced radius machine or the Terex TC125 or any of the other many swing boom mini-excavators that have been done in 1:50 over the years. Eric does make a valid point, but since the 345 doesn't even come to market until sometime in 2018 maybe Hitachi will commission it from Replicars.

I did, yes, nothing new, the same old ertl crap, just insanely overpriced. Eric W. Pioszak, Operating Engineers Local 701, Portland, OregonMETAL TRACKS AVAILABLE AGAIN! Cab guards Available again! Grapples Available again! Industrialscalemodels[at symbol]Gmail.com

Pictures have been released on komatsu's web store. *pictures credited to first gear replicas* I must say it'll look good once there's a quick coupler and a thumb on it. (IMO)

The model looks very good and I already have a metal quick hitch buckets and hammer for it so it s just to show up . Now we need the PC228USLC or PC308USLC to make an appearance and we are on track. Thank you for posting photos Roland.

Added to the list. Is there another excavator that shares the same platform that could be made out of this model?
