I was cleaning my workbench and found the CONRAD track links I have purchased several months ago for this project:

I always thought I had to redo the prototype tracks and I have just completed the project.

It kinda simulates the big contract Mammoet had in Mauritania where they had to remove
several abandoned wrecked ships in a bay.

I did not dare to weather all the excavator due to its high resale value, although I have weathered its shear tool
(shown on the Cat fantasy Mammoet excavator),which couldn't be any worse that the original canari yellow color.

I have kept the original tracks in the box in case I ever decide to part with that model, which is very unlikely as it is one of my favorites.

Here are a couple of pictures on my barge diorama:

Of course we've got birdview drone pictures here Smiley

The crew is taking a pause as the Volvo dumper is suffering a blown radiator hose and had to stop due to engine overheat...

May as well unload the Volvo until we get another truck. Parts won't arrive today...

I am not into Mammoet and things of that nature, but that is super cool Stephane!

Thanks, but I have just noticed that the right side track is wrong way.

Here is a picture of the making of. I used an industrial two components adhesive similar to epoxy, separated by wooden blocks cut offs from coffee sticks,
then shaped all the links once the blocks were removed with an X-acto knife.. I also had to drill each one of them for a total of 108 links. All of this and the paint&weathering took
me two days. But I am satisfied with the result.

I'd say you cannot go wrong with that version since it had been very popular, and still sells to premium prices.
Sad that Mammoet has part with their Salvage division. Not talking I really liked their engineering and custom equipment design creativity.

Hi Ironstef, fantastic dio of the Mammoet Salvage eqpt. That's too bad that Mammoet divested it's Salvage division. I really like the pieces I have.

Thanks so much for sharing. Take care and all the best.

Thanks CY!
It was good to be back to modeling in 1:50. I am more involved in the HO railroad stuff now.

Just check for ironstef70, my channel on Youtube and you'll see what I mean.

I always like to see your posts too. It's been a while... Whatever

Stephane
