Just wanted to give everyone a heads up about the upcoming IMCATS show in Clarence, NY. The show will be on October 7th and will run from 10:00am - 4:00pm (setup 8-10). There will be vendors, dioramas and custom models on display and the usual BRI organized dinner afterwards. DHS Open house is always a great way to start the summer and IMCATS is a good way to kick off the winter modeling season!

The location is the same as last year, Our Lady of Peace Parish center, slightly further east of the shop. I do believe that everyone seemed to like this location better then the fire hall.

Our Lady of Peace Parish Center, 10950 Main St (Rte 5), Clarence, NY 14031
5.5 miles East of Transit Rd (Rte 78)
1.5 mile East of Buffalo Road Imports
Across the street from the flea market

Admittedly, the show has decreased in size from the earlier years, however last year seemed like there was a noticeable increase. We had about 3-4 people who had never displayed at the show before who brought dioramas and custom models to display. DHS was a packed house this year, hopefully some of that momentum will carry over to this show. Last year a group of us tried a couple new things; we visited Milton Cat before the show and after the show that evening we visited Niagara Falls. This year the tentative plan for our group is to visit the Canadian side of Niagara Falls Friday night, visit Milton Cat Saturday morning before the show and have a cookout Saturday, after the show - if you're interested in joining us, please feel free to message me. These are some "extra curricular" events designed to help round out the trip and make the drive a little more worthwhile.

I know it's hard for some people to justify driving all this way just to look around a show for an hour and leave, so here's a few options and estimated time from BRI shop to get to other things to help round out the weekend:

Milton Cat Batavia, NY (20 min - Open SATURDAY ONLY 7-12 has CAT merchandise)
Great Clarence Pumpkin Farm (5 min)
Niagara Falls State Park US Side (50 min)
Maid of the Mist Boat Tour US Side (50 min)
Seneca Niagara Casino, Hotel, Resort (50 min)
Buffalo Creek Casino (30 min)
Historic Lewiston NY, Youngstown NY (60 min)
(Water street landing, Brickyard - both good restaurants there)
Old Fort Niagara (60 min)
Pearl Street Brewery (30 min) (food, local beer)
Harbor Center/Canalside (30min)
USS Sullivans/Littlerock/Croker Ship tour (30min)
Forestlawn Cemetary and Delaware Park (30min)
Darwin Martin House (Frank Lyod Wright) (30 min)
Albright Knox Museum (20 min)
Pierce Arrow Automobile Museum (30 min)
Buffalo Zoo (25 min)

Some shopping alternatives for other family members less interested in models:

Niagara Falls Fashion Outlets (30 min)
Walden Galleria Mall (20 min)
Boulevard Mall (15 min)
Eastern Hills Mall (10 min)
Elmwood Ave, Buffalo (30 min)

Hope to see some old and new faces at the show!

Ill Be there in spirit, Represented on Dan's table

it just doesn't pencil to fly in from the west coast for a one day show, Airfare for two, hotel, rental car, table...

it was so much better when it was a two day show and collectors from all over the world were able to justify the travel expenses.
