We recently attended the 100 Years of Progress Show in Carthage, North Carolina. This is a show started by a private individual, Ken Eder and is one of the best if not the best equipment show in the country! The breadth of this collection is amazing as anyone who has attended will tell you. Every year there are more surprises and more to see! We have been attending this show since 2013 and the hosts are wonderful!

Unfortunately this year, there was some bad news reported at the show. The owner found out that he had been robbed! These idiots took at least 35 rare and collectable pedal cars, gas pumps, vintage bicycles and many other items from this property. This really hit us hard as anyone who collects as a hobby understands the benefits and drawbacks of showing people your collection. Unfortunately, some people just can’t enjoy what they see – they have to try to make a profit from it. These items took years to accumulate and Mr. Eder was nice enough to want to share the items with the public.

I would like to extend our condolences for this event to Mr. Eder and his family. And I also want to use the power of social media to try to locate and apprehend these thieves! We have asked for a list of what was taken which we will post it soon in the hopes that everyone here will re-post. We need to watch eBay, auction houses, private sales and anywhere else many of these one-of-a-kind items may appear.

I would love to be able to report the thieves to authorities because one of our followers found an item somewhere – perhaps we can get the items back to their rightful owner.

So please watch this space for news regarding the items that have been stolen – and also start watching for anyplace that is advertising the kinds of items that were taken.

I will be posting some pics from this show on my blog this week so you can enjoy the collection!

Thank you!

Chuck
