Gents, I am in a heated discussion with a chap over his ebay item. It is a Corgi transtar "Sulley" with another brand three axle lowboy, very cheaply made lowboy. It says it,s 1/50, so for the price being asked, I say it is made by Motorart. He says it,s made by Cararama. Cararama does make 1/50 and they are cheap But Motorart makes the same lowboy in 1/50 for higher price. Look at ebay 263440817207. Can you tell what brand the lowboy is?

If this is the same model we are looking at, then the trailer is neither Motorart nor Cararama. It is a Joal.

That's not the same listing. I believe he is correct. That is a Cararama lowboy, but I thought either Cararama became Motorart or at least had a partnership or something because the Cararama Volvo models are the same as the older Motorarts.

He changed the pictures in the auction. There is a red Cararama lowboy now on the truck.

Question: Did carama take over Motorart? Their lowboys are identical.

Motorart,is a name owned by Brandon.Under licence, producing various manufacturers machines.Brandon may sell some moulds to Cararama, which is Hongwell. They do use the same moulds for casting, producing identical pieces,in slightly different materials.I am assuming, some moulds are used by different model makers, like Norscot moulds, being sold and used,by Die cast Masters.Even though, the Die cast Masters models are better.

Ad Scoop to the mix as well - some of the Volvo shovels and excavators have the same castings as some Motorarts and Cararamas.

. D3ter That is not the samelisting and yes, that,s a Joal. The item number never did work for me here. I assumed it was the same model. Either ways, I hope you get a good deal on the model.

Either way, it is a cheep generic brand trailer, more of a flush deck than a double drop lowboy. In my opinion, that tractor and trailer is only worth $50.00 or so. Ken

I think I read somewhere that lowbed trailer (Cararama/Motorart) is a model of a Nooteboom. I however stand corrected.

Mystery solved. I talked with the owner. It's Cararama, same as Motorart but with different stickers. Cheap quality, Chinese junk, but what the heck, if the shoe fits...etc. It might be fun to dress it up. You can't lose big money if you mess it up. Thanks for all your help

There was really no mystery. The first picture you posted he had a red Joal lowboy trailer on the model. Then he relisted it and swapped the trailer for a red lowboy Cararama trailer. The confusion on your part was that both were red trailers.

The confusion you faced is because I posted that pic from another auction assuming it is the same. eBay has different item numbers when they list it on the global shipping program and I assumed that was the case. Anyways, the issue has resolved now. The seller has mentioned it as a Cararama in the item description.

Ahhhhh there you go. In any case, the Joal and Cararama trailers are very different and easily identifiable.

Max: I didn't post a picture of the guy's auction. I reposted someone's comment' The guy's auction in question had the Cararama lowboy which I knew nothing about. I recognized it as a Motorart and ,thus, the heated exchange between the seller and me. I then found out that Cararama and Motorart trailers are the same under license by Brandon. I have been selling lowboys on Ebay for 17 years. I know a Joal trailer very well. However, I had never heard of Cararama and I started the post accordingly. The pictures reposted by members were of course a Joal. Thus the mystery was solved for me. To put a Corgi "Sulley" Transtar with a Cararama Lowboy for $160.00 is nuts. That's why I e-mailed the seller. Then the argument. He claims he sold it for $160.00. He now has a blue one on auction, I think with a Sword/WSi "Rich's Towing" for $160.00. SO, there was never a Joal trailer involved from my original post.
