So I want to make some bridge beams.
Thinking of using resin.
Will I need to re-enforce the beams like the real thing?
Or would the resin be strong enough to no need the re-enforcement?

Robert, I am not an expert here, but I would reinforce the beam with a metal or brass support through the center of the beam. I don't think the flange is thick enough to support the beam length. You could try one with out the support, and if it doesn't work, add the support to the mold on the next one. Very interesting project, hope it works out ok.  Ken

You could also use a high strength resin and you would not need internal strengthening. A lot depends on the resin you use whether to use internal strengthening materials also what your using the beams for, if your using them simply for show (as a load for a truck or a crane) or if you are going to use them for a diorama where your going to have heavy models on them (as in a road structure).

Hi Rob , Are you locked in to using resin ?. For a real quick n easy way , would a piece of timber shaped for the body of the beam with a bit of ali flat bar glued on for the flanges work ?

You could also look at different shapes of extruded aluminium.
