Craig my wife handles all the communications that are wrong, all the correct ones are done by me. And no my wife does not read this forum if she did I would not lye about her like that. The colored styrene came today to make the lights for your brush bars, so they will go back into production tomorrow. If you can send me a picture of the dull silver color you want that would be nice so I can try to match it. Thanks Steve

Well I forgot that I had already ordered one of these WSI Mammoet Mack F700 way back earlier. I received it today. First, everything Ken says is right on. Mine came with a bump in one or more of the tires, which makes the truck ride not so smoothly. I think the air and electrical lines are dumb as heck.. The exhaust is small and plastic. You could break it with your breath(especially exkvate's). That engine detail looks wonderful. I wish I had it in my Conrad Freightliners. The spare tire is stupid and should be removed and another fuel tank added. To add a headache rack, you would have to remove the back spotlight and those dumb electrical lines. There is no way this model is worth $150.00+. Holding it in one hand and a Conrad Freightliner in the other, the weight is very different. Sure, the Conrad doesn't have the detail. But you can add it for next to nothing. It's great to have another cabover, but the price should have been around $79.00 to $89.00, especially with no trailer. I wish Chuck would have produced it with another manufacturer. Fellers, you are working 3 to 4 hours, or more, to buy this truck. Sword/TWH is still the best truck ever made. My opinion, but I could be wrong. I was once before !!!!!!!!! CAW

CAW Craig, Sorry to contradict you but the Mammoth Mack reproduced had no right fuel tank but a spare tire instead, as it can be seen (with some difficulty) on the second picture below: For me, the main problem is that WSI and Mammoet Store chose to "forget" both front and rear tow hooks: difficult to explain on a ballasted tow truck, even in a 1/50 scale! Pictures from (1) Mammoet Store and (2) Van Seumeren-Mammoet Archives. I hope it helps. Guy

Guy: I stand corrected. If it is indeed historically correct, fine. Most modelers would want a second tank I would think. That's not the biggest concern though. Thanks for those great pictures. A Caravan of cabovers is always great to see. CAW

Craig again that’s my wife typing your lucky it didn’t say “2 old “. If I was typing it would have said “grouchy old geezer” who likes cab over Freightliners more than cab over PETERBUILTS. Also I’m going to ask my wife if there should be a comma after spelling. Steve

Quinella I’m financially embarrassed so I can’t put money on it, but I still think your incorrect. I saw a couple of Peterbuilts today also. Steve who is looking for loose change

Barkerjoh: Why don't you build that Smith little treasure? I don't know what you skill level is, but it would bring you so much pleasure to have it completed. Smith models still rank as tops with many collectors. I think if you could find an era appropriate, rear loading lowbed trailer, you would have a masterpiece. Put a CAT D8 as the load and weather the dozer. Lots of work though. CAW

Barkerjoh, please keep us updated if you do plan on building that Mack. Do you solder yours or use super glue? My suggestion for that F700 would be to let it sit alone out at the back of your warehouse parking lot with a jack stand under the front axle and have a front tire that is laying on the ground next to it. Pull off all your rear axle outside tires and lean them on the back of the frame. Put like 4 different faded colors on the cab, cracked windshield and don’t forget the 5 gallon Home Depot pail over the top of the stack, if you need one let me know and I will send you one. Everyone has the era correct rear loading trailer with a D8 on it, think outside the box, that other idea is “very old”. Also make sure you put the passenger side second fuel tank on because that is how they should be, oh wait I may be wrong about that. That is a question Quinella could probably help you with. Better yet just build your 365 PETERBUILT. Steve

Barkerjoh the rear axles on that F700 from Smith are probably 38s so Quinella will have you in jail, which is probably what he wants because when they release you from the poky and you arrive home those white boxes with truck pictures on them will probably be missing, and all your furniture will be rearranged he has a flair for feng shui. Watch out for NC license plates in your neighborhood and lock your doors. Steve

The list keeps getting longer and longer. CAW

Craig I live for my daily enemas and as far as that list, it is never ending. I just wish I had your vast knowledge on things that just don’t really matter. I’m really trying to get your brush guards done got all the pieces cut, just have to drill all those holes in them. Hang tough I know you don’t want your Freightliners damaged as you haul your loads from the TV room to the bathroom and back again. I have been meaning to ask you, do you come back with loads or are you just capable of hauling one way. Steve who has trouble sitting on hard surfaces.
