Here are some 1/64 lowboys in my collection. A rare one is the Conforti Pete and step deck. I installed the 3rd axle on the trailer. Another is the blue KW, Carlisle (Ice Road Truckers). Ken: I like many of the 1/64th lowboy sets. DCP makes many. I recently got that Keen set and was a little disappointed. Those larger strings are just terrific. I wish we had more construction models for them. Great pictures. The Comforti is outstanding. CAW

The fuel tanks could have been a lot better quality, the trailer needs to be a 3 axle, or a dolly and scraper setup made (as in the picture below) and the worst part is the fixed out rigger boards glued into holes in the sides of the trailer. You would not be hauling anything on that small of a trailer that would warrant outrigger boards! On that note, the paint on the Pete is outstanding! I added the beacon lights to the Pete. Ken those 64th scale rigs are very sharp, along with the loads. The Conforti set is really nice, the third set up down has a very slight resemblance to the Harley Murray Transportation trucks but without the Murray trailers. What is your collection made up more of, 1/50 or 1/64 scale.

Ken the real truck pictures are very nice also. Love the old style lowbed pictures with the old style iron.

Thanks Steve Thanks Steve. Mostly 1/50 lowboys and equipment loads. I have 15-20 1/64th lowboys. I also have about 65 Chicago Fire Department trucks in 1/87. 1/64, 1/50, and 1/34 scale. I just sold off most of my 1/87 stuff and selling the 1/34 scale stuff now. Thinning out the heard a little.

I really dig the Conforti rig.
The owner Frank is one of the coolest truck nuts i've ever met.
We rally round the family, with a pocket full of shells.....

Great collection of lowboys, Ken. Those are some beauties! Gotta love those pictures. Especially the scraper set up with the Terex pan. By the way, thanks for your help the other day. Mike

Ken thanks for the response, I just can’t bring myself to get rid of any thing on my shelf’s or dioramas. I guess it’s like Quinella saying he is retiring, it’s just not in the cards.

(Where there is a farm toy and 1/64 trucks show on every corner). I added the 3rd axle to the stepdeck, which matches the 4 axle Pete a little better. Would be nice if Frank Conforti did some model runs in 1/50 scale, they have really sharp equipment and reputation out East. Ken

Ken: I keep looking at those real pictures. What year approximately would they be from? The Petes don't seem to have a headache rack. Was that common? Nice big tool box though. Gosh I wish Conrad would have made a 352 8x4 or 6. What engine, Cummins? The only model of a Pete 352 was made by Tonkin back in the '80s or '90s. It is really plain. I have one and considered adding things, but it's just too odd looking with the air foil. Keep those pics coming. Thanks,Craig

You guys remember Lil Danny who was on the Forum some years back? What was the name of the hauling company he worked for? They had some killer trucks, including that big Autocar? Anyone have any pics of those trucks? Craig

Ferreira/American Pile bought Malbros i believe a few years ago. The APF mechanic we had on job was saying they were restoring Brutus. I haven't seen it though yet.
