Claus,

Thanks for posting those pictures: Steve made a nice-looking combination with these Diecast Masters International + Sword East Trailers models:

Can we have a closer look to the Mack F700 shown behind with its semi-trailer (which is unknown for me)?

Regards.
Guy

Steve your combo looks much better (in my opinion) than the Tonkin CT680/Sword Dump that WSI sells. And fine job on removing the huge headache rack!!!
Cool

I agree Claus. But please, "Rhode Island Rebel"? Maybe Rhode Island Red Neck. And Steveo, what is that trailer with the Mack F700?

Claus thanks very much for posting the pictures, and I agree with you I need all the help I can get, (you actually sound like my wife) I here that phrase everyday. The idea for the set up with the International and East trailer, along with removing what ever kind of rack that is came from Claus, thanks Claus.
Steve

Guy I will send you more pictures of the F700, right after I set our friend fro NC straight.
Steve

Quinellao, RI Red Neck, figure out that trailer that is hooked up to the F700 on your own.

Looks great! I just wish Diecast Masters had of made the new trucks and trailers with a polished rim as opposed to the "painted steel" look, however, I guess we cannot be too picky! They look great! It definitely looks good without that headache rack, and coupled to the dump trailer.

Amazing combo indeed. I wish they had made the retractable tarp on the tri axle straight truck instead of the ribbed

Yes indeed. I never liked, or bought, the Sword Pete straight dump, even though I love the Pete 357 with trailers. CAW

I have 2 of the trailer dumps and 3 straights. Like them all. Do the tarps retract on the new Diecast Masters?

I like the Sword dump and the 357 tractors but I switched the cabs out on mine with 379 cabs to give them dual stacks, breathers, strobes and 379 mirrors. I also exchanged the step for a fuel tank and turned the wheels around on the lift axle. Did this a long time ago, Jeez, I haven't built or customized anything in a long time.

Then I built a 379 tandem to match.

Yes, the turtle tank is kick ass. Did you buy it or make it? I love the black model. Did you end up with any carcasses? Excellent work.

Yes, I bought the Turtle tank, wish I had more of them. The black truck is built of three trucks. I started with a Superior 357, for the chassis and headache rack, I bought a black 379 for the cab and an all black 357 crane truck for the hood. No parts anymore, used what I needed and sold off the rest.

Claus those trucks look great, start customizing again. I think our not so young friend from NC is looking for spare parts for his Yugo, Quinelly I think those Pete parts may be a little to big for your car.

I have never liked the Turtle type hydraulic tank. They are made of a plastic material and are prone to leaking and other problems compared to a metal tank, and the owner took the cheapest way to run a dump truck. Around Chicago, Milwaukee area, frame mounted steel and aluminum tanks are mostly used. For years truck manufactures have offered split tanks (50% fuel, 50% hydraulic or however you wanted it) for dumps and lowboys. This system makes for a lot cleaner installation and maintenance. Just my opinion here...Whistle d'oh! Ken

Well done Claus remember seeing pictures of you red Pete “fleet” years ago. I personally wish Sword would have done their tandem with a little shorter wheelbase. That’s a pretty long tractor to put on an end dump.

I use my east trailer with a first gear mack. Looks natural. Haven’t switched the fifth wheel so it sits atop

Thanks for the compliments guys. I have five of the East dump trailers. I switched the wheels on one of them to match the First gear Macks and drilled the fifth wheel holes out on these two trucks, they alternate pulling this trailer. Also Brad, funny you wish they shortened the Pete, I wish the Sword Mack would have been a tandem to pull the dump trailer.

I have one stock 379 on a dump trailer too. Sometimes a lowboy truck needs to pull double duty, Ha! I know this is a silly and counter productive setup but love how the full fenders go with the dump trailer to keep the truck clean(er).
