Here is the 345B L Series II I built over the winter out of a Norscot 345B MH and Diecast Masters 349F L XE.

I made a first attempt at a 345 just about 10 years ago using a 450D for boom and undercarriage donor and eventually gave up because I was never satisfied with how the Deere pieces didn't look close enough to a Cat. So I waited, constantly looking for a proper undercarriage to use and eventually, my patience paid off when DM released the 349.

This model was built after the first machine I got to try as a kid, down to just about every detail, including the bucket. The undercarriage, boom, frame and cylinders are all off the 349 and have all been modified, the body is off the 345B and the stick, quick coupler and bucket have been built out of styrene.

Great looking custom of a popular excavator. Your patience definitely paid off, how about a picture of the 345BL being moved on a Rogers 3 axle lowbed please.

That's one of the nicest custom 345s that I've seen, great job, very clean and detailed result.

Nice work, any chance you want to reproduce another one?

Thanks for the compliments, but negative to both questions. I have more projects on my plate and work promised to friends of mine than my own motivation can handle.

Thanks for posing it on a lowbed, if you sprinkle that magic dust over it that Santa uses to get down the chimney that 345BL would not look so small. Again great job on the custom.

Thanks brother. Yeah I don't post very often anymore, but I figured this one was DHS worthy 👌
