I was shuffling though some photos taken in the late 70's, and I came across these. I've been trying to figure out what make and model the carrier truck is for this packer. Anybody have any ideas?

I've been trying to find out myself for some time now. I'm not too sure if it was made by a large truck manufacturer or a smaller company that specializes in custom chassis, like RTI or Ottawa.

Looks like it may be a triple C. Or a crane carrier brand chassis. Not totally definite I have been known to be wrong

Possibly an Able Body Co from Southern California. Not a CCC as they had three large CCCs as their logo on the front from what I can gather. CCC was licence built under the SOC Berliet Company in 1973.

The one I pictured does have an ABC body on it. But I don't believe ABC made custom chassis for the refuse industry, then again i've been wrong before. BTW Able Body Company was a in Northern California in Newark. Able Body Sales and Service (An independent entity from Able Body Company) was in Pico Rivera, in Southern California.

I don't believe it's a CCC, their logo is pretty distinct, and weren't all their stuff of this vintage single narrow cabs? It almost looks like a C an T in the logo on this truck.

That's a tough one!
Sloped up windshield center is tough to nail down.
Be nice to see that logo on front up close.

I checked with some friemds on a couple truck carrier sites, and they said they were built by Master Company of Southern California. I think it might be part of Kann Company. Looks like they make garbage packers too. Probably never got too far East in the US. Ken Think

Makes sense, the orange cab truck is a City of San Diego packer, and the background for the BFI truck too very Southern California. San Diego used White/Autocar for a while before switching to CCC in the late 90's.
