You'd think with a price that high they could throw in free shipping but nope, that's an extra $30.

Some older gentleman? In NC try’s to get those type of numbers for his 1/87 scale cab overs. I guess sheep feed is very expensive.

The guy is an idiot.

It's a shame he had to pick this hobby of all things to gouge people over.

I never see the problem with people selling models for large prices. If it sells and you have one in your collection does it not increase the value of your collection?

It’s not rape if both partners are willing, if you don’t like the price don’t buy.

You don't feel the damage profiteers have on a hobby right away. This sort of behavior drives away new people who see models they would like to have one day being sold at exorbitant prices. In due time, you are left with a group of old dudes hoarding ever more expensive models and manufacturers having a hard time finding new buyers for their models.

[I think the passion for collecting items starts with an interest in the subject from a very early age regardless if its trucks, cars or planes. Sometime this passion is driven by what your father or family were involved in as you were growing up. In many cases the induvial likes the subject buy a real one is outside their budget but a diecast one is accessible. It’s also true that people see an item selling for an exorbitant price and its well out of there reach but that would not stop them buy something smaller or cheaper to start their collection. I work within the diecast industry and often see new young collectors starting off following the footsteps of there fathers on a regular basis. ]

The problem is now that others see these prices and charge the same or near there. Have already noticed quite a few going that way, one example being the Etnyre tack truck done by Sword. I recall when this guy had a black T800w set he was selling that wasn't perfect so I jumped on it. When he wanted $35 for shipping I told him you can keep it.

If you look at this auction closely you can't see who purchased the item. I think this listing is total BS.
