Sometimes it doesn't take much to make a fella happy but this past week I witnessed them hauling in and erecting a Liebherr LR 11000 in order to top off 72 super windmill turbines. Only about 10 miles from me and right smack dab on a county road...........plus a McDonalds on the way there to boot !!! They will end up bringing in two more LR 11000's in order to get this job done by Labor Day. I'm a dirt guy by heart but this is still so amazing. First Moses.............and now this !!!!!!!!!!!! https://steveo.smugmug.com/Equipment/Hauling-in-and-erecting-Liebherr-LR-11000-2021/

RobS.............they just started erecting 72 super turbines down here in White County. One half mile north of Brookston on highway 43.........go east a half mile and can't miss it. They have the first four silos up with 3 out of the 5 sections erected with the LR 1300 already and the LR 11000 will start topping them off starting this week. They will be hauling in two more LR 11000's in order to get this farm of 72 turbines done by Labor Day. Loads of activity !!!!!!!!!!!!

Great pictures Steveo. I've always been fascinated by wind turbines and their installation. Do you know if the blade lifting device is one from Liftra? I used to kitbash one of those a couple years ago: IMG_7887 by Ironstef70, sur Flickr"/> IMG_7892 by Ironstef70, sur Flickr/img] IMG_7893 by Ironstef70, sur Flickr/img] [img] [img]https://live.staticflickr.com/1533/25150779536_75c08359e3_c.jpg"/>IMG_7893 by Ironstef70, sur Flickr/img] [img]"/> Stef

Thanks everyone for liking the photos links that I have been putting up. And Stef.........as far as I know, the only thing on the blade lifting device I took shots of is the blue "Vestas" sign with a model number of "WLL 20 ton". So obviously Vestas designs and makes these. BTW....nice kit-bashing on these devices. This 72 wind turbine farm is only 8 miles from me and I'm retired so I am in heaven as I get to go and get shots as often as I want to. And in another week there is another LR 11000 that will be set up !!!

You are doing great pictures, and I assume you are using a professional camera with appropriate zoom. Unlike me just using a cheap android phone Love the pictures, please keep posting Stef

Paul, I was able to use the link to see a picture of the crane on its side. Probably a regional access thing. The picture was taken from afar, probably with a cell phone zoomed all the way in, so it's pretty low resolution.
