In Europe, "road trains" are only accepted in Sweden and Finland (except for 25.25 metres LCVs, tested recently in various European countries).
Sweden switched from left to right-hand drive in the fifties, then accepted on their road network 24 metres and 51.4 tonnes "road trains" early 70s, without any height limitation. That number increased to 56 tonnes early 90s and is today 60 tonnes for 25.25 metres (length of a LCV).
A Swedish "road train" in the nineties:

The official name for 25.25 metres combinations, road tested in various European countries around 2010, is "LHV" ("Longer and Heavier Vehicle") and not "LCV" ("Longer Combination Vehicle"), as indicated wrongly in my previous post. Sorry!

Other Swedish combination.
In the 90s, the semi-trailer width (2.60 metres) and more importantly its height (4.50 metres) restricted the combination to Sweden road network and it was prohibited in neighboring European countries:

Within Jean-Jacques' collection, a Caterpillar D9G bulldozer in Spada(*) livery (the unit originally was a Gescha/Conrad model):

Note (*): Spada is a 100-year old civil engineering and construction company located in South-East of France. Link to their website (in French, sorry!): https://spadagroup.fr/ .

In the USA still with an iconic tractor, the Mack B61.
Mack produced more than 47 000 B61 trucks with approx. 125 000 B Series vehicles built from 1953 to 1996 (data issued from "Mack Model B - 1953 to 1966" T.E. Warth, Iconografix Editions):

Mack B 61 6x4/2 tractor (modified Dinky-Matchbox(*) model) and Fruehauf-US DES-M2-M20/40 2-axle belly dump semi-trailer (Corgi Toys model being modified),

Note (*): Matchbox took-over Dinky Toys en 1987 and will produce a few (4?) models in 1/50 scale in the Dinky Collection. Tyco sold Matchbox to Matteï in 1997.

Other 1/50 Dinky-Matchbox(*) model, a 1939 Peterbilt tractor:

Peterbilt 344 DT 6x4/2 tractor (modified Dinky-Matchbox model) and Trailmobile 33' 2-axle reefer semi-trailer (modified Corgi model, to be repainted),

Note (*): to the best of my knowledge, only 3 other models were ever produced in that scale by Matchbox in the short-lived Dinky Collection, a Diamond T 910 4x2 tractor, a Fruehauf Aerovan 1-axle box semi-trailer and a Mercedes-Benz O 3500 4x2 coach in a German transport company livery.
All these were already displayed in this topic.

Late 2010, Solido is back to military modelling, some 1/48 models being built by them in Bangladesh in resin for the American train producer, MHT Electric Trains(*).
A page of the train modeller 2019 catalog:

An US Army vehicle being tested by the Royal Saudi Land Forces:

General Dynamics Land Systems MGS Stryker M1128 8x8/4 armored vehicle (Solido model),

Note (*): Solido subcontracting activities didn't last very long, as the American company disappeared in 2021 in their original form, with the retirement of Mike Wolf, its founder. The few Solido models - very well detailed, as far as I could see - of the defunct American company, were sold direct by the French company from that date: https://www.solido.com/echelle/1-48/?orderby=date

The IMC Zetros looks wonderful. How does it feel in the hand being resin?

Jamie,

It looks all right in terms of weight. As for many resin models, its level of detail is amazing.
The only problem I found were rams, which need to be "helped" by a wooden stick when towing a vehicle, as they can't hold the load.
Its normal retail price looks quite high, at approx. 165 Euros, but I found it for sale a little bit less than 100 Euros on a French website.

I hope it helps.

Yes, thanks. I had a look online after seeing your pictures. Perhaps I could modify a Siku model?!

Jamie,

That would work fine but I hope that you have 1/50 good-looking cross-country tires as the Siku ones are "toyish"; moreover the Siku model is fitted with single tires all round, while the Zetros/Empl unit has dual tires on the tandem, resulting in an extra width.

I hope it helps.
