Strangely enough, tractor cab doors glazing was not foreseen by Matchbox. The trailer, which simply looks like a larger Whitlock unit, has lost in the development its manufacturer's name (a Matchbox "invention"?): Regards. Guy

The "farming period", (temporary) end: - left: Normag NG16 Faktor 1 4x2/2 farm tractor with lateral collapsible mower (Wiking model) and Sankey/Ferguson L-JE-40 1-axle tipping trailer (Corgi Toys model, to be repainted), - right: Hanomag Robust 900 (S) 4x2/2 farm tractor (Siku model) and Whitlock SX3 1-axle tipping trailer (modified Matchbox model, to be repainted). While they were, more or less, standardized on a 1/60 scale (before their 1/55 "period"), Siku, the German toys producer, issued a few rare models in a 1/50 scale: Regards. Guy

2 military vehicles produced by Ford for the US Army during WW2 (8523 M8 et 3791 M20 assigned to the army by end of the 2nd quarter 1945): - left: Ford M20 armored vehicle 6x6/2 with 12.7mm machine gun (modified Solido model), - right: Ford M8 reconnaissance vehicle 6x6/2, fitted with a 37mm cannon and a 7.62mm machine gun (modified Solido/Hachette model). The GBC 8KT: an industrial success! Berliet will produce approx. 17 200 of these trucks, among which 16 500 - fitted with various bodies - will be sold to the French Army in the 60s/70s(*): Berliet GBC 8 KT 6x6/2 truck fitted with a dropside body with tarpaulin (Solido model to be modified), Note (*): link to the "Military Today" article about the vehicle: https://www.militarytoday.com/trucks/berliet_gbc_8.htmRegards. Late 90s, the French Army, then having a limited budget, ask Renault to renovate their remaining Berliet GBC 8KT trucks by replacing, among other things, the original multi-fuel engine and the Charbonneaux-designed cab by a more powerful engine and a cab of the manufacturer(*): Renault VI GBC 180 6x6/2 truck, dropside body with tarpaulin (Solido model to be modified), Note (*): link to the "Military Today" page about the truck: https://www.militarytoday.com/trucks/renault_gbc_180.htmRegards. Short trip to the USA with a local reefer: Kenworth T 680 6X4/2 tractor (WSI model) and Great Dane Classic LT-50 2-axle reefer (modified Tonkin Replicas(*) model, to be completed), Note (*): the 53ft (16.15 metres) Wabash reefer 1/53 Tonkin Replicas model, has been changed into a 50ft (15.24 metres) Great Dane reefer (below) in a 1/50 scale: It just requires to fit the Tonkin Replicas model with slightly larger wheels, reposition forward the tank and glue Evergreen plastic sheets on both sides and roof (still pending), to get back to the Great Dane reefer width (102' or 2.59 metres) and height (162' or 4.11 metres).
