The cars shown on the recent Azur Modelisme diorama above are smaller than 1/50: they are Majorette cars, probably 1/55 or even smaller (1/60).
There are today very few true 1/50 scale cars, a large majority of them being Sword pick-up trucks, Conrad vans or a few Siku models.
Here-below some vintage cars I have modified, which were originally built, either by Dinky Toys or by Corgi Toys, in a 1/48-1/50 scale in the fifties/sixties:

As car collectors concentrate these days on the 1/43 scale, I suppose that producers don't see a market large enough in a 1/50 scale and don't want to take a financial risk, while pick-ups and vans are associated with trucks and plant equipment and are developed in the smaller scale.
I see an opposite trend in France, where recently a lot of trucks are being produced in a 1/43 scale (in particular Altaya and Hachette products - often made by Ixo - sold in newspapers retails and bookshops).
