Heavy haulage activities are maintained during the Covid 19 travel ban period, with individual safety precautions put in place: During the crusher maintenance period, extraction continued in LorraMine with large piles of ore being temporarily stored in all available places. This situation triggered the need for an extra-large loader to be delivered as the crusher should be back in operation. To be continued. Guy

Some Matt Hayes videos were used by Dennis to model the scene, among which a LeTourneau L2350 transport by Triton Transport Sces, shot heading up North out of Perth (Western Australia): Pity that Dennis didn't manage to remove the hard material tires of the Weiss Brothers LeTourneau model, to get the scene even more realistic. Pictures extracted from M. Hayes videos: https://www.youtube.com/user/mhp4014/videos and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4WbbAlcy26o . Regards. Guy

It's nice to see Ocean Traders getting a piece of the action. They've always been a top notch Heavy Haulage firm, and a move like this is what they do best.

I'm not sure to understand the first part of your question: what is the "doner 360" you refer to? Regards. Guy

You answered perfectly.By doner 360,just means it revolves 360 degrees, and it was 'donated' to be a permanent fixture.Sometimes the word trackhoe,or hoe, would also work.In U.K wheeled excavators are known as 'rubber ducks',due to the profile of one seen on road from behind a hedge.

Some other pictures of the delivery of the LeTourneau/P&H L1850 mining wheeled loader: Unloading operations should take place just outside the LorraMine maintenance workshop, where sufficient space has been made available. Regards. Guy

Steve, Drake Trailers capacity depends where you use it in Australia. From what I could gather, a 2+10-line unit - like the one shown here - accepts (see pictures below): - a 104 tonnes payload on Queensland highways (minimum case), - 168 tonnes payload in Western Australia (maximum case), - 235 tonnes for closed site work, LorraMine being in France, we are not subject to Australian rules: here the 20 tonnes/line with 8 tires/line is commonly accepted on French public network, which means a minimum GCW of 240 tonnes resulting in about 199+20 tonnes payload (for a weight transfer of approx. 20 tonnes on the tractor 5th wheel). See Nicolas 12-line strait trailer sketch below: It should be reminded that the P&H L1850 is about 230 tonnes with its bucket. I hope this helps. Guy

Unloading operations of the new wheeled loader start with lifting of the bucket off its trailer: The mine Management has arrived as the wheeled loader is brought forward to the maintenance open area and as de-fastening operations are being progressed: Regards. Guy

Guy, I appreciate the continued coverage of operations. Would it be possible to begin a new thread on some of the weathering techniques used in Lorra Mine? Bug ITW Security

gabugman, I'm afraid that I don't have a lot of material (except for the one already posted) to feed a new topic on weathering techniques. Should you want to know more about mining models weathering, then I recommend Steffen excellent work: More Steffen weathered models can be seen here: http://www.hansebubeforum.de/showtopic.php?threadid=8620&pagenum=1&time=1586332629&s=d4dd9c0cff591dd206e7b10cfcd4a65bBut I'll ask Denis anyway (the LorraMine "Boss"), to find out what kind of information he may supply. I hope this helps. Guy

Denis encountered a very bad experience when his Belaz dumper (originally built by Miniatures du Faubourg - France) fell down from its work bench where it was stored and literally "exploded" all over the room: The resin-made model didn't like it at all and now awaits a huge repair operation. Regards. Guy
