Yes, I don't know why the CCM version did not sell very fast. It is a beautiful model. The detail is incredible and it makes a great load for a heavy hauling rig. Guy, you may need a bigger lowbed for that 983. That thing weighs around 40 tons. The side by side pictures a a little deceiving as the CCM is 1:48 compared to 1:50 for the NZG. Still one of my favorite models. Thanks, Guy. Craig

Craig, No idea why the CCM model didn't sell so well. They generally - in spite of their relatively high price - go very fast. The Nicolas STA45 2-line semi-trailer should be OK, as it was designed to carry battle tanks, up to 45 tonnes in weight (as its acronym implies): Not much spare capacity left, though! Regards. Guy

Guy nice pictures of the 983s, I only have the NZG one, it’s hard to explain to my wife why I need two of the same model. They just don’t get it. Steve

During approx. 20 years, Colonel Khadafi had in Libya the world largest irrigation network made: the Great Man-Made River Project (also called GMMR Project). It was made of 2000 kilometres of buried concrete pipes network built between 1984 et 1994, with additional 1500km laid in 1990-1996, followed by a third phase between 2002 and 2005. Concrete elements were built in local factories and carried to the various construction locations by numerous MAN/Schmitz combinations. MAN 40-440 DFA 6x4/2 tractor (modified Conrad model) and 130 tonnes capacity Schmitz-Cargobull semi-trailer made of a 2-line heavy duty bed linked to 1-line front dolly (Conrad model), loaded with a 73 tonnes Al Nahr Co concrete pipe segment (homemade). To be continued. Guy

Guy those scratch built trailers are great does Jean-Francois ever run out of ideas for what to build or does he have a list. Also could you explain about the concrete pipe segment. I really like how you coated the inside to make it look like cement, great job. Steve

Exkvate3140 and Quinella, Many thanks for your enthusiasm. Jean-Francois does not build a lot of model per year but, I agree with you, most (if not all) of them are wonderful. The bulk cement trailer started from an old picture of a local transport company he found on a website. In terms of concrete pipe, this piece was built with 2 sections of pipe made of cardboard paper, the smaller one being inserted into the larger. I agree with you, once painted, it looks like concrete. I just had to add a red elastic rubber band (to model the joint) and some homemade decals, using GMMR Project lettering found on the web. As a bonus, some transport pictures of that project: Regards. Guy

Guy thanks for the information, as for your customs, it all in the details as they say. One question, in the last actual picture of the pipe how did you get Quinellas dog to pose like that? Steve

Steve, I'll let Quinella answer this one, but how do you know that his dog was there? Keep in touch. Guy

Guy I have special powers, which do not include doing customized models and loads like your team. Also I guess Dog’s really do resemble their owners. Steve

I ignore from where these tanks come from, but you can find similar ones on "Creatpshop" website: http://www.creatpshop.sitew.com/#Presentation.A Creatpshop is a model small company, located in the Bordeaux region, offering among other things, some products made for them by N.
