Guy very nice diorama pictures, i like to see those from other parts of the world, where the majority of site work is not in ledge like it is In my neck of the woods.
Thanks

Craig I sent you an email so you could pick up a Nelson ramp trailer, so when you buy it make sure you open it and check out that lift axle feature. Knowing you after you experience the feature you will probably sell it back to the person you bought it off at a higher price.

Nice combination! I also swore I seen online but I forget where that this compressor can be paired with the Gescha Demag Drill Rig I have pictured below.

Cat345bl,

You're totally right. Since I first took some pictures of that air compressor with the modern Actros, I found an old Gescha drilling model at an incredible low price (approx. 20 Euros) in a model second-hand shop and changed the setting as follows:

Demag PR25(*) rotary pneumatic drilling rig on a 4x2/0 chassis (modified Gescha model) and Demag-Pokorny SC5 DS air compressor set on a 1-axle trailer (modified NZG model)

Note (*): so far, I was only able to find technical details of the Demag CR25 tracked version. I am therefore looking for any technical detail of the wheeled unit (exact name, weight, capacity, dimensions, etc) modeled by Gescha in the seventies.

The combination should end being carried/towed by an old Gescha Mercedes-Benz LP 1924 dropside truck, only requiring some glazing to be completed:

Regards.
Guy

Guy,

Can you provide the stock number of the Demag compressor?

Thanks!

Guy I like the combination of the compressor and drill, I did one with the Atlas Copco compressor and track drill from Apra however it is I believe 1/43 scale.

Cement mixer trucks with front discharge capability are very specific of the US market.
Drivers have a better view on the discharge chute from the cab, which helps a lot when approaching the unloading point. In addition, the respect of the "Bridge Formula" and the different weighing rules from one State to another, favor the multiple axles on a single truck.
End result: "centipede" trucks with a very specific architecture, like this Oshkosh S57-1879 14x6/10 truck with 4 lifting axles equipped with a McNeilus FDM11 cement mixer (TWH model)

Jean-Francois decided to build a cement mixer on a 2-axle truck, architecture used in cramped areas. He started from a modified plastic Cararama drum (originally designed for a out-of-scale 4-axle truck) on which all other items are homemade:

The chain used for drum rotation was made from a motorbike kit in 1/32 scale:

1rst tests on a 4x4 Berliet truck (the cement mixer chassis is missing):

To be continued.

Jean-Francois ended with 2 cement mixers on Berliet trucks in Nicoletti livery:

A cement fabrication site (a diorama built by Jean-Francois for a Menton Model Expo many years before) was re-commissioned for the occasion:

Guy that mixer with chain is great along with diorama that he put them in. Do you guys adopt Americaian citizens, even if it is for a week maybe 2, just so I can check out the whole collection and maybe some of the customization that goes on.
Great work.

Steve,

If you ever fly to Nice on holidays on the French Riviera, I'll be more than happy to get you around to show you everything you want, as far as models are concerned (I'll leave it to you for any other matter).

2 Conrad models of airport towing vehicles in Fraport (Frankfurt Airport - Germany) livery:

Airport tow trucks Goldhofer AST-1F-600 4x4/2 (capacity: 425 tonnes) and AST-1X-1360 6x6/6 (600 tonnes).

To be continued.

Transport of the "little" 26 tonnes Goldhofer tow truck:

Mercedes-Benz 1843LS 4x2/2 tractor (modified Conrad model) + ES-GE E-SG 5068 3-axle flatbed semi-trailer (Joal model being modified)

The 4.5 metres width of the 45 tonnes tow truck being a challenge, it is hauled on a flatbed semi-trailer, allowing for oversized loads to be moved with no major problem:

Guy thanks for the invite I would love to see that collection, and the French Riviera. My problem is I have a shattered tibia and the longest I have been able to fly is to Florida, which is about 3 hours. It is a very painful 3 hours also, so the Riviera is not yet an option. My wife was going to take me to Seattle next month and I had to tell her no. The other matter sounds like fun also.
Do you have a 1/50 scale jumbo jet to go with your tow motor, and if you do I would love to see the diorama of that airport.
Thanks
Steve
