Steve,

I'm not fully aware of Dutch local heavy haulage legislative requirements, but I suspect that an escort will be needed for that kind of transport. As escort duties for "light oversized" loads were privatized in Europe a few years ago, I assume that this escort could be private, but it needs to be confirmed (by someone in Holland?).

I hope it helps.

Guy: I'm sorry that Steve keeps bugging you ,especially about the escort for the lowbed. You see, he uses escort services all the time! I love those old Berliets myself. Craig

Guy thanks for the response, it just amazes me the difference of hauling techniques from around the world.

Guy, don’t pay any attention to Captain Quinella, I bet his wife doesn’t even know he is on this forum, because he is usually on that “other forum”.

Guy [...] The redi mix cement plant is also very nice. I had some questions about how it operated until the second set of pictures you just posted, which answered my questions. I have never seen a plant set up like that around where I live, it seems like that set up does not need a lot of real estate. That would be a huge cost savings right there [...]

Jean-Francois loves to model things how they really are. Here below a few pictures of the scale 1 mixing plant he shot, to help him in his diorama:

I hope it helps.

Guy tell Jean-Francois he did a great job replicating that redi mix plant. Also thanks for sending the pictures of the real plant. That is how I built mine, I had pictures from a plant in Ma. l believe. It was over 20 years ago and was for sale, so I had them send me pictures of it. My wife cleaned the cellar about 3years ago and I think they were either thrown out, or she forgot where she hide them on me.
Nice pics of the loader and Lowbed.
Thanks for the information on the plant.

Guy what brand of trucks are the most recognized on the roads in your country? Ours roads most recognizable brands are probably Mack, Kenworth, Peterbuilt, Freightliner, Volvo and recently Western Star.

Not the Freightliner cab over however, sorry Quinellaliner.

Guy: I like that silver tanker with the Mercedes. What brand is that? It would go great with a Pete 352 COE. Thanks for the help with the Mack this morning. Craig

Craig,

The only silver tanker I have posted recently is this one:

The tractor is a Renault Magnum (Universal Hobbies) while the semi-trailer is a 3-axle Tekno tanker modified with a tandem at rear.

Steve,

Most of European trucks can be seen in numbers in France. Latest statistics (January to September 2017) are as follows:
- 5+ tonnes trucks registered in 2017 have increased by 4.6% split into: carriers (+12.6%) and tractors (-1.3%). Final 2017 number should be approx. 48000 units,
- Renault: 28.1% shares of the market,
- Mercedes-Benz: 15%,
- Volvo: 12.5%,
- DAF: 11.6%,
- Scania: 11.4%,
- IVECO: 11.2%,
- MAN: 9.9%.
Figures provided by SCIAM (French automotive and motorcycle official entity).

I hope it helps.

I got the acronym wrong, sorry: it should be CSIAM instead of SCIAM, as indicated above.

Guy thanks for the information on the brand of trucks on your roads, and it is very factual. I was just figuring you would go by what you see when your cruising around. Your second bus shown is what they used to run around here in the city, which were probably all replaced in the early 80s. I also like the Scania R 143E cab over very powerful looking.
Thanks for the pictures.
