Vehicles recovery in Germany in the 80s/90s.
The combination is being progressed; the Tekno Danmark trailer (a 1/43 model produced during the 60s), was bought on e... in a very poor status and narrowed, based on a vintage Falk & Zonen equipment picture (see below):







Mercedes-Benz 1628 truck, fitted with an unknown brand body equipped with a towing winch and a lifting beam (Conrad model) is loaded with a Mercedes-Benz 608D 4x2/2 van (Cursor model). The truck is towing a car recovery trailer of unknown brand fitted with a hand winch (Tekno model being modified), carrying a Mercedes-Benz L 608D 4x2/2 dropside body van (Cursor model)



I'm looking for any technical details on the real recovery trailer unit (fabricator, capacity, dimensions, etc):

Jean-François built a new tipping semi-trailer, presented here some times ago. He decided that - as on the real tipping unit - his model would be equipped with a tilting tailgate made of ... 2 opening rear doors! A few pictures of the work in progress:

Early 90s, the British company Matchbox buys the Dinky Toys brand and gets models made in China under the Matchbox-Dinky brand. In this model range, very few are in a 1/50 scale, one of these being that Mercedes-Benz O 3500 "Konferenz" 4x2/2 vintage tourism coach in Reisebüro Ruoff livery:

Late 1980s, site move of a heavy load by Sarens in a British shipyard:





DAF NTT 3300 DKS 6x6/2 tractor with winch, ballast box and hydraulic crane (modified IMC model) and 2 Goldhofer THP-L6 6-line modular trailers rigged in a 4-file wide arrangement (Conrad model) moving a demobilized 118 tonnes Vickers-Armstrong ship steam boiler to be scraped (Corgi load).

In the U.K.,the style of tipper doors that Jean-Francois has reproduced,are called 'barn doors'.They are standard fitting for any high volume tipper.I can think of at least three,model tippers,that I have,that have the tailgate moulded as one piece.So the 'doors' are for show,as the tailgate functions as usual.Those doors are very handy for larger volume stuff that may be too big to go through the gap.I really like Jean-Francois,engineering.They look,and function perfectly!

I think that it started in UK and you have these days in Europe editors like Altaya, Atlas, Del Prado or Hachette selling every week in newsstands booklets and associated models on any type of series: vintage semi-trailers, old Berliet trucks, long gone vans, model cars, Dinky Toys, etc.
Most of models are in a 1/43 scale and often produced by Ixo. Sometimes, these series gather various scales (that was the case for the fire engines shown above) or go for smaller scales (there is one plant equipment series which I think is exclusively in a 1/72 scale).
