Steve, I think that the Conrad Kaiser model has all functionalities found in the Ros Menzi-Muck version (they are very similar units, overall). I would have preferred to get the white-yellow unit but it was impossible to find, either new or second-hand. Steve, I've got since yesterday the info that Menzi-Muck 1/50 walking excavators made by Ros could still be available at the company fan shop. I went to have a look and apparently, only the Siku model remains for sale there: https://shop.menzimuck.com/fr/excavatrices/I hope it helps. Guy

Both Berliet trucks, waiting for the Citroën assistance van, produced by Norev from a Dinky Toys model and part of Jean-Paul's fleet:  Michel forgot for a while about his cranes collection to display a France Jouets 1/60 Pacific M26 truck (his 2nd interest in models after cranes) he found in an excellent condition in a local swapmeet:    Regards. Guy I appreciate you trying to hunt down a Menzi Muck thanks. The dump trucks look good, is the Pacific truck model a true representation of the real one, I have never seen one of those before. What were the modifications you did on the Ertl models, I did pick up the landing gear on the trailer which is a great detail for it.

The Chevrolet pick-up truck only received a new towing hook, while the equipment trailer was more heavily modified.
When I received it, I was so disappointed to find out that the DCP model was far too wide that, based on some Landoll drawings found on their website, I reduced the width of the trailer to a real 1/50 scale: bed, short loading ramp and frame were cut and glued back, once to the right dimensions. It's only after completing these mods that I found out that the only compact skid-steer model I owned, which could be carried on the narrowed trailer, was that New Holland unit: hence the final combination.

Guy thanks for the information I have 5 of those trailers guess I have some work to do. Did you make from outside of fender to outside of fender 2” (8’) and then adjust trailer bed accordingly along with the axles. When told what you modified and then going back and viewing it looks 100% better.

That was done some time ago so I'm not 100% sure anymore of the mods performed:
- I think that I cut the frame right in the middle and reduced it to the correct width,
- as far as I remember, the bed was cut on one side only as 1 "model bed board" was more or less what I had to remove to get it back to the right width, with all under-frame modified accordingly.

Modification of an old Cursor Magirus-Deutz model I bought as I thought it was in a 1/50 scale. After delivery, I found out that its cab was 1/56 and its chassis 1/53 (conclusion: never trust what you may find around on the web). After some search, I noticed that its wheelbase was exactly a 1/50 reduction of a light Mercedes-Benz unit:    Mercedes-Benz LP 809 4x2/2 truck fitted with an Esterer Diesel fuel distribution tank (Cursor model fitted with a Siku cab)  To be continued. Lots of Dinky Toys and Corgi Toys produced prior to mid-60s - even if they often given to be in a 1/43 scale - are in fact in a true 1/48, even 1/50 scale. Two examples with cars towing boat trailers:   - On the left: Volvo Amazon 122S 4x2/2 car (modified Atlas/Dinky Toys model) and its Wincheon 1-axle boat trailer (modified Corgi Toys model) loaded with a Brooklands Aviation Ltd Dolphin 20 boat fitted with an Evinrude outboard motor (modified Corgi Toys model), - On the right: Jaguar Mk2 3.4L 4x2/2 car (modified Dinky Toys model) + unknown brand 1-axle boat trailer (modified Dinky Toys model) carrying a Healey Marine 55 equipped with an in-board motor (modified Dinky Toys model). Steve Steve, I wanted some 1/48-1/50 cars to go with my trucks and there are very few modern ones, but I found that vintage models were really detailed and accurate. Some others below, towing caravans from the same period:   On the left, a British combination made of a Mercedes-Benz 220 SE W111 4x2/2 car towing a Sprite Musketeer 16' 1-axle caravan (modified Dinky Toys models), In the center, a French camper with his Mercedes-Benz 220 SE 4x2/2 coupe (modified Corgi Toys model) and a Henon EH 500-4 1-axle caravan (modified Dinky Toys model, inside fitting to be completed), On the right, an American traveler with a Chevrolet El Camino 1280/1960 4x2/2 pick-up car (modified Dinky Toys model) moving with its Airstream Trade Wind 25' 2-axle caravan (Minicirque kit).
