Guy your Fiat Allis Equipment looks very nice along with your Mack tractor and Talbert trailer. How do you like the Old Car Fiat Allis Equipment, it looks like nice detailing. I do not have any of those. Steve

Q, I only have The Big Allis 41B’s from Conrad, and the only Old Car model I have is the Iveco tractor with fixed neck lowbed, and it is 1/43 scale not even 1/50. You have the loader to load out all the shag carpet filings you get after dozing with your Big Allis don’t you, or did your wife confiscate it on you because you forgot Valentines Day. It has to be tough at your age to remember stuff. KGFRI

Gents, 4x2 Most of Old Cars models were made in a 1/43 scale (like the IVECO 4x2 tractor and its Cometto 3-axle lowbed Steve refers about): they were very few 1/50 models, among which these FIAT-Allis units, which were produced in various liveries (company, fire brigade and army colors). These were all nicely made and very detailed models (in particular when compared to Conrad or NZG models produced at that time), but were very fragile.

CAW Craig, The winch, as far as I remember, came as a Zon Model kit, bought in a German model shop. I simply added to the Conrad model the homemade cab structure wire meshed protection and some cable on it, together with homemade mirrors (missing), a white metal 5th wheel and a rear protection plate with roller, as seen on some oilfield tractors. On that Conrad Mack, I always felt that the scale looked too small compared to their Freightliners, and Internationals. I like the rear plate and roller. Never seen them before. Keep em coming. The Talbert semi-trailer above was originally towed by a... Steyr tractor! Conrad made that highly improbable mix between an Austrian truck and a pure US design semi-trailer: I don't think that such a strange combination ever existed in Europe! The tractor has since been assigned a more plausible role, at a time when MAN were playing a more and more active role within Steyr commercial strategy: - Steyr 19 S 460 tractor in Commander XT 4x2/2 version (460hp, GVW: 19 tonnes, GCW: 40 tonnes): modified Conrad model, - 3-axle reefer semi-trailer (brand and technical data unknown): modified Conrad model Regards. Guy glad to see the modern Volvo tractors, they look great. They need to produce the VHD’s in tractor and dump configurations because they are a great truck. That’s mostly what I ran in my site company and had nothing but good luck with them, sorry Claus. Thanks Steve

Hey old man it’s called synchromesh transmission, you can go from 8th gear into 1st gear with no grinding however you may end up out on the front hood of the truck. Any self proclaimed truck guy would would know that, and you my friend wouldn’t be allowed to drive an automatic Uhaul. Freightliner is to big to play, maybe I will bring him down to NC and I can hook him up to your Smart car and he can pull it around your neighborhood with you tied to the back bumper.
