Steve,

There are 4 more units to come in addition to the Joal and Conrad tractors shown above, but these mods are waiting for some ancillary stuff in order (logging poles, mudguards, etc) to be progressed.

By mixing the various parts you sent me and adding some Tekno, Conrad and Joal parts and models when required, I managed to "engineer" so far:

- a German MAN 35-422 VFK 8x4/4 truck with its Brechtel Masterlift Comfort F towing equipment recovering a MAN TGA 26-480 FDS 6x4/2 tractor:

- a Middle-East Volvo F16-T470 6x4/2 tractor towing a homemade ACTM S 70 320 Special 3-axle equipment transport semi-trailer loaded with a modified Corgi Toys Land Rover and a CCM Caterpillar wheeled loader:

- a Swedish IVECO LD 240 E42 F/P 6x2/2 timber truck fitted with a Conrad Epsilon E 250 L82 logging crane:

- a Dutch Mercedes-Benz 3238 L 8x4/4 container carrier moving a Tekno Sea Box Inc. 20' maritime container:

Many thanks again for all these useful parts.
Guy

One of the very last Minitrucks kit before final closure, the FIAT 683T tractor, put to work by Jean-Jacques while its matching Van Hool bulk tanker semi-trailer is being built:

Guy you have to give us some info on the load that is on the Fiat and the last load that is on the Volvo, both look very interesting.

Steve,

Both loads are homemade by Jean-Jacques. I don't know the origin of the top one, but the one at the bottom looks like a central heating water regulating valve.

modelmaniac,

I agree with you: the trailer seems to be an ex-Corgi semi-trailer fitted with a 1-axle front dolly.

Regards.

Steve,

Jean-Jacques provided me with some explanation on the FIAT tractor load: that is a drain valve found on a rose wine 5-litre pack, now installed a skid,

I hope this helps.

Guy like I said very interesting loads, a drain valve found on a 5 liter pack of wine (never in a thousand years would have guessed that one), don’t be surprised if Q sends you a huge box of those after spending a week with his sheep (Florence and Dorian).

Model cars in a 1/50 scale are so few that it's worth mentioning this one found recently on a British sales site for a very low price [...] Welly, producer of that BMW 535i 4x2/2 car, indicated a 1/43 scale on its box; the seller claimed a 1/50 scale and was displaying the model along a ruler: some more precise measurements when I received it show... a true 1/48 scale! [...]

On the same motto "In terms of scale, never trust a model car producer" 3 other models produced this time by Dickie for their "American Dream" series, most of them being carved 1/43 under the chassis(*) [...] precise measurements of each model car reveal that these 3 models are respectively produced in a 1/48, 1/49 and 1/50 scale [...]

Other examples of incorrect scale with 2 low cost model cars(*) produced in China by Smart Toys:

Lexus RX 300 SUV 4x4/2 (left) and Mercedes-Benz ML 430 SUV 4x4/2 (right).

Note *: the Lexus car is stamped 1/48 while its length measurement indicates a 1/50 scale (I found precisely 50.33). Similarly, the length measurement of the Mercedes-Benz vehicle - stamped 1/45 - reveals a 1/48 scale (48.31, to be precise).

To be continued.

Steve,

They seem all right for me. Here they are with the 1/50 Conrad recovery truck being modified and the Welly BMW in 1/48 scale:

I hope this helps.
